Band.

I saw this band last night. They put on a free show for promotion and rocked hard.
I don't know if their recorded stuff does justice to seeing them live though.

Not bad..a mix of early and late 90's heavy music. Also, they have pictures of them being human beings and not ULTRA H@RD0RE BEASTS! So that is nice..

The frontman is great with the crowd too.

At one point he turned to the back of the stage towards the big tapestry thing with their logo on it and says "Hey! Look at our new banner!", so a few guys in the audience go "WHOO!", to which he replies "Come on guys, it's worth like a hundred bucks!".

Their manager is a patient of a buddy of mine who does some physiotherapy stuff, and that's how we found out about the show. I should be getting a copy of their album soon.

Acutually, Rode, can you confirm something else music-related?

There's a band playing somewhere in Canada that annouced during their performance there will be a suicide on stage.

No one knows where the actually location of the concert is (for legal reasons), but they'll put a recording of the whole concert on the web -- suicide and all.

Is this true or is it just an urban legend?

I'd wager it's a publicity stunt and they'll say the suicide is metaphorical or something.

I heard about this on the radio yesterday. The DJ said the  concert is going to be in Florida, though there was a quickly passed law once the government found out about it, stating that it is illeagal to stage a suicide for publicity.  The person who will be commiting suicide is terminally ill.  It's supposed to raise awareness about assisted suicide/right to die issues.

Unfortunatly, I can't seem to find the name of the band.  I wonder what the Canadian connection is?

The name is Hell on Earth, and they planned to do it in their concert in St. Petersburg (The American version).

Edit: Slightly too Nu for my liking.
