Does anybody know how to do a Star Trek-style warp speed animation, with the stars streaking past as lines, going from center outward smoothly? If anyone does, I'd be much obliged and you'd help me greatly in my game, By the Sword. :)

Hmmm. Well this is only a guess with my Bryce experence but here it goes...

1.) Make a star with the lighting or what ever how you do it.

2.) Copy and paste a ton of times aranging nicely to the angle you want the ship, window, or whatever to see.

3.) Merge them all into one big object.

4.) Stretch the large object twards the 'ship' taking the frames you want or even make it into the video

Note: For real good looks make the stars get brighter as they get longer ;)

I hope thats an easy enough way for you.

Why not create a particle effect in front of your spaceship - or whatever - with the particles preferably emanating from a disk or square plane (so that they don't appear to come out of 1 point, fountain like). Then use high motion blurring on them ... that might work. You could even change their colour as they stream past. Just don't use a static starfield as background image, because that's gonna look teh sucky.
