Something really tells me this is a hoax...all this about "dumb americans" seems like something thrown out just to cause provocations...

If I'm wrong, listen here Punk:

Coincidently, you are member number 1337
1337 means leet
A leet person is someone who starts a topic with lots of caps, stars and then more caps and stars.

Now you do the rest of the maths, because I have to fetch my tea

Hey feel like calling me a dumb American any time you like. I know a lot of dumb Americans so I can understand the generalization.

I've been responding to another post for awhile on an unrelated forum about how it's stupid to call ourselves Americans because we don't represent the whole continent. I don't agree, but I'm just a dumb American, so what do I know?

EDIT:
This has to be a joke, if you're fixing up your profile, why haven't you put a single thing in it. Kind of odd that you'd give up completely because you can't figure out your avatar has to be hosted on a webspace of some sort.
Once I killed a man. His name was Mario, I think. His brother Luigi was upset at first, but adamant to continue on the adventure that they started together.

ya i have alot of american friends so im not trying to insult all americans,...
ive hitchhiked and train hopped all over north america and i have lots of american friends,...

Ok, calm down, if you can't say it without swearing, you probably shouldn't say it at all.

Quoteand the only reason i was typing with stars and capitals is so that someone actually payed attention and responded to my post

But what if everybody did that? There's nothing that makes your post more important than any other, so why try to make it so?

But CJ!  If we didn't have things we were unable to articulate wihtout swearing, we'd have no excuse to swear at all!  That would be horrible!

I have nothing against americans. You know a lot of stuff... But it always seems that you know EVERYTHING about USA, and NOTHING about the rest of the world :P?

Matt Brown

the reason for that is pretty simple my friend.
The American media has found it pretty profitible not to write about affiars outside of America. The BBC, for example, does a great job of reporting events outside its own country, and the English are much more about foriegn affairs then America. The only mainstream media outlets that report much outside of America are the New York Times and the odd AP story. The times is very expensive for people not living in NY, and AP storys only get published when they are huge enough of other papers to pick them up.

Thankfuly, the internet is helping to bridge this gap, and give Americans more foriegn news stories.

It didn't. People would have read it anyway. This isn't one of those huge forums with thousands of active members where there are hundreds of new topics each day and no one ever reads anything. Thus, trying to grab attention like this doesn't have any effect other than getting on people's nerves and quite possibly turning them away from reading your thread.

Eeer... Why all that mess of the 1337 member? I´ve had understood that the figures of the membership change in the way that the onld members who hasn´t posted in 8 months disappear... So, nobody will really be the 1337 member many time, correct?

I'm not sure how the numbering system works, but it is not necessarily in order anyway, If you look at the dates when people registered,

eg. member 5, "& Jongetje" registered 20 Sep 2003

and member 8, "Steven gaynor" registered 07 Sep 2003

and I looked around when I registered and it wasn't in any real date order. eg NTL aka Hosamov aka Kickme registered after me but is higher on the list. (but some were in order)

I thought that maybe when a member drops off the list, the next person to register takes their place on the list (kind of like the way a hard drive stores info), but if members dissappear after 8 months 10 months or whatever, my theory is flawed.

I think, it just puts people where it feels like, some in order and some not, just a bit of chaos. (or just CJ's hitlist order)

But either way, I'll sleep well tonight.

Being an American myself, it would probably be considered mutiny if I were to agree to this post, but I'm sorry... I agree.  We are very arrogant.

<American members of AGS contact George Bush and organize a lynch mob to hunt down Bodyart.>

<Bodyart: "Hey, look!  I'm on America's Most Wanted... Holy Crap! :o I've got more money on my head than Bin Laden!">

Another thing is, the term "American" is a very vague term...  If, for example, you say "American's are egotistical"... are you talking about Canadians?  Mexicans?  Brazilians?  I mean, there's South America and North America... I don't know about the rest of the "Americans", I'm just a citizen of the United States...  ???

Edit:  Damn, Makri beat me to my point... >:(
Watch, I just killed this topic...

remixor

I won't say my fellow citizens aren't arrogant, but it seems like people from non-US countries are pretty arrogant about not being arrogant.  Ha!

Those are all rock artists/bands (unless you count Roy Harper as more of a folk singer/songwriter, which would work).  I'm sure there are a ton more examples, but those are the ones that spring to mind for me, since I have them in my album collection.   Once you factor in jazz and particularly music from the so-called classical periods, longer tracks become much more common.
