Hi all,

I decided to make a remake of one of my games, Mountain wihch I made some time ago.

Most of the backgrounds have snow in them... The thing is I cant draw snow very well. I cant make it look flufy like snow, it either looks white carpet or a blanket with white sprinkles. Does anyone have any tips?

I'm using photoshop (and paint) mostly for my backgrounds so any tutorials would be nice. I remmember there being a snoe plugin- like in the game with the gye in his underpans. Can someone give me a link to it?

thanks in advance,

Iwan

Check google and Permament daylight for references.
Make some attempts on you own, show them in the critics lounge and ask for c&c.

Actually, as far as I know, Calsoon 2 (the game you're meaning) doesn't use snow/rain plugin, but the snow/rain plugin can be found at http://www.agsforums.com/games.php?action=detail&id=185

Well, heres a few ideas for snow;
Firstly, set your brush to 3x3 pixels, or whatever the equiv. is.
Then just try to think what shape the ground would be beneath the snow, with bumps and drifts. And use off whites, greyish and brownish ones. Or blueish, depending on the degree of realism you're aiming for.

Actually I have a snow picture somewhere...

Oh, don't think I'm setting myself up to be some sort of expert or something.

EDIT:
Okay so I don't have apic but heres something I threw together in UP just now.
Remember: Several yet subtle colour changes throughout.
Ah! There is no emoticon for what I'm feeling!
