The AGS Panel is a team of AGS forum veterans who play all of the games here, and give them ratings from one to five cups. The rating system is as follows:
1 Cup Not serious entertainment
2 Cups A reasonable game, worth a try
3 Cups A good game, worth playing
4 Cups A great game, well worth your time
5 Cups An outstanding, must-play game!
Feel free to disagree with the panel's rating, and please don't be offended if you think your game has been underrated!

(Why has my game been rated 1 cup?)

Close window
If your game has been rated 1 cup, please don't be offended! It's common for your first game release to get a 1-cup rating, due to the game having a lack of polish and flair -- which is understandable, because you're just getting started!

Please understand that the main purpose of the ratings is to help potential game players find high quality, bug-free games to play. You've probably learnt a lot about AGS as a result of making your first game -- so why not use that knowledge to start afresh, and do even better with your next game!

About this game

An expressive game allows you to dive into someone else's life in order to explore his or her psychological / cultural / social problems. You can experience his or her ethical / moral dilemmas and face the consequences that occur of such situations.

Keys of a gamespace is part of this approach of video games, linked to the research of Sébastien Genvo on the expressive potential of game design. Just like cinema or comics, we think that video games in general are not a minor medium of expression. They can also deal with heavy or complex topics. For example, the following works have been sources of inspiration for our project : Mystic River, EraserHead, Twin Peaks (movies), A Town faraway, Black hole, American Splendor(comics).

Dark, dark philosophical game. An experience.

This was a dark thought provoking game.

Beautiful stylised backgrounds, a short game light on dialogue and puzzles but heavy on atmosphere and emotion.

Deals with some pretty dark subject matter and will likely leave a lasting impression.

This game is more than it seems.

Fantastic game. I'd gotten in touch with the author after playing it to discuss influences. We gamers seem to have a lot in common;)

Great philosophical story here, but told in a fresh new way. Recommended!:)

A truly amazing short game. I can't even express how much I enjoyed the graphics/visual style! The same goes for all audio/music, together they managed to really draw me into the game.

It's a rather disturbing story and will leave a lasting expression. Thank you for making and sharing this.

And because I just have to point out some weaknesses:
- players actions determine the ending, but I would have loved a little more focus on that.
- everything looks and feels jsut so wonderful, it's a real shame that the mouse cursors and font haven't been customized!!

This is a very nice short game. Visually it's great since the backgrounds are beautifully hand-drawn. It makes you rethink some life's aspects, also, and there's a forum online (you're provided with the url at the end of the game) to discuss the choices you have made.

In short, not a traditional game but a short human life philosophy experiment to make :) Good work, author/s!!
