The AGS Panel is a team of AGS forum veterans who play all of the games here, and give them ratings from one to five cups. The rating system is as follows:
1 Cup Not serious entertainment
2 Cups A reasonable game, worth a try
3 Cups A good game, worth playing
4 Cups A great game, well worth your time
5 Cups An outstanding, must-play game!
Feel free to disagree with the panel's rating, and please don't be offended if you think your game has been underrated!

(Why has my game been rated 1 cup?)

If your game has been rated 1 cup, please don't be offended! It's common for your first game release to get a 1-cup rating, due to the game having a lack of polish and flair -- which is understandable, because you're just getting started!

Please understand that the main purpose of the ratings is to help potential game players find high quality, bug-free games to play. You've probably learnt a lot about AGS as a result of making your first game -- so why not use that knowledge to start afresh, and do even better with your next game!

AGS Panel Review

"Excellent graphics and animations as well as an outstanding soundtrack are the most noticeable features of this game. The game mechanics of unlocking new areas and puzzles fit perfectly in the bizarre world of Ponderabilia. While some players might be offended by the sexual and violent content, be assured that there is more behind the story than it may look like at the beginning."

It was good but maybe not excellent. Story a bit strange and not completely fulfilling.

Ponderabilia is an oneiric descent into the most remote corners of your mind... But *who* are you? And what are you looking for in there? Somehow your mind has decided that the quest should be fulfilled by Nikee, one of your long gone memories... Lead her through symbolic rooms from strange encounter to strange en counter until you understand what it's all about.

Worry not, this is not one of those unncessarily dark and gruesome games. Quite the opposite! It's not a comedy game either. Here, it's all about gothic, cyberpunk, mythology, neurology. You'll talk to Freud, to Tesla, and many others. You'll take drugs, you'll have nasty sex, you'll fight robots, you might even need to kill yourself. But this fantastic journey is so lyrical and mysterious that you won't even mind.

The game is well written and is supported by sharp pixel art, with a palette of colors of the best possible taste, which will remind you the golden age of Amiga.

Ponderabilia will take you on a journey through a beautiful game world. The rooms are gorgeous, and I can only imagine the time spent making them. The music is wonderful, and I loved every track that played. I must admit, the story was confusing to me. I'm still not exactly sure what I was doing there, and why, but I'm guessing the developer wanted it this way. There are some puzzles that tripped me up towards the end, and some tough hotspots to click on. I personally don't like to have to interact with things more then once, but in this game, there will be an occasion or two where you will have to keep clicking to get what you need. I feel that if these minor issues didn't get in my way, I really would have loved this game even more than I do now. I personally like hotspot indicators. I feel a little less lost when playing games when they have one. I want to thank you for the very cool experience that you made here, not to mention that it's free. Great job!

Loved the graphics in this game, I felt like at times there was a bit too much dialogue at times (Look at gramophone comes to mind), but was fun to play. A high amount of effort and detail really shows, and most of the puzzles and story I enjoyed. Some I struggled a bit with (the Electrical room). The world is a pretty bizzare place, and I'm not sure I quite understand everything that was going on but I enjoyed my time with Ponderabilia.

Great work!

Awesome graphics, great mood, and compelling adult themed story, in a somewhat absurd world. I think this game manages to pull off absurdity much better than most amateur games. I enjoyed playing it for the most part.

What put me off from this game were the somewhat random puzzles and occasional pixel hunting. The backgrounds are detailed and excellently drawn, yet it's easy to miss a couple rooms entirely.
