The AGS Panel is a team of AGS forum veterans who play all of the games here, and give them ratings from one to five cups. The rating system is as follows:
1 Cup Not serious entertainment
2 Cups A reasonable game, worth a try
3 Cups A good game, worth playing
4 Cups A great game, well worth your time
5 Cups An outstanding, must-play game!
Feel free to disagree with the panel's rating, and please don't be offended if you think your game has been underrated!

(Why has my game been rated 1 cup?)

If your game has been rated 1 cup, please don't be offended! It's common for your first game release to get a 1-cup rating, due to the game having a lack of polish and flair -- which is understandable, because you're just getting started!

Please understand that the main purpose of the ratings is to help potential game players find high quality, bug-free games to play. You've probably learnt a lot about AGS as a result of making your first game -- so why not use that knowledge to start afresh, and do even better with your next game!

You can see that there has been put much effort into the making of this game! A real plus is its length, several hours of gameplay, many non-linear puzzles and really lots of rooms to explore. The puzzles are logic, though I sometimes had to consult the walkthrough ;) All in all very recommended!

A really enjoyable game! Beautifully painted with great attention to detail, a lot of imaginative ideas and nice puzzles. Some of them were hard to figure out (for me at least) and I needed to use the walkthrough several times, but that didn't diminish my joy in playing this game.
Highly recommended!

Quote from Shadow (Completed game forum)......

I finished this game a few days ago. I really enjoyed it and I want to recommend it to all. I am surprised that no one has played it and commented yet.

The game is well-designed and outstanding in all areas. One of my favourite parts of the game was the graphics. There are MANY rooms (more about this soon) and each one is just beautiful.

Second, I LOVE exploring! There are so many areas and rooms and they become more and more as you get through the game. I think that having such a huge game broken into smaller sections of 8-10 rooms each and navigating with a map is an excellent design choice. Some big games require WAY too much walking.

The story was good and developed at a nice pace. Nothing ground-breaking in terms of the story but it did develop in stages. In my opinion, a huge game should have a huge plot :) but in this case all the other strengths of the game worked well enough to make me overlook that.

The puzzles were pretty good. I had fun solving them. There's a good variety of puzzles ranging from dialogues to inventory puzzles with a lot of emphasis on picture puzzles and word puzzles. If these are your thing then you will really like this game. If not, then there are still a good range of puzzles and mini-games that there's something for everyone.

I do want to mention that I really needed the walkthrough a lot. I found myself completely stumped a lot and even when I used the walkthrough I found myself saying "huh? I would never have guessed that one". I have to confess that although I really enjoyed this game as much as I did, the fact that I found myself that stuck that often did diminish the fun I had playing.

Another thing that I wasn't crazy about is the dialogues. I can't put my finger on it but the way people talk in the game often just did not seem in character.

Over all, as I said, the game represents a huge effort over the course of a number of years and the result is great. I am looking forward to your next release!
