The AGS Panel is a team of AGS forum veterans who play all of the games here, and give them ratings from one to five cups. The rating system is as follows:
1 Cup Not serious entertainment
2 Cups A reasonable game, worth a try
3 Cups A good game, worth playing
4 Cups A great game, well worth your time
5 Cups An outstanding, must-play game!
Feel free to disagree with the panel's rating, and please don't be offended if you think your game has been underrated!

(Why has my game been rated 1 cup?)

Close window
If your game has been rated 1 cup, please don't be offended! It's common for your first game release to get a 1-cup rating, due to the game having a lack of polish and flair -- which is understandable, because you're just getting started!

Please understand that the main purpose of the ratings is to help potential game players find high quality, bug-free games to play. You've probably learnt a lot about AGS as a result of making your first game -- so why not use that knowledge to start afresh, and do even better with your next game!

About this game

You wake up alone in a strange elevator. Not remembering how you got there, you try to get out, but soon find that you are "trapped". It's as if someone, or something, is trying to prevent your escape. Are you a prisoner? This game should run fine on most versions of Windows. ======= This game "Elevator - Rise From the Abyss" is in-complete, but it's a much improved-upon and expanded game based on the original "The Elevator" game concept ("Rise from the Abyss" probably has about 30 - 40 minutes of playtime). I don't think I'll ever get around to finishing that project, but as I had already put in a lot of time and work into it, I thought it would be a shame if no one ever got to see it, so, there it is now, get it while you can :) *** Warning: "The Elevator - Rise From The Abyss" is meant for adult players and may contain scenes of violence, gore, nudity, sex, profanity, etc... so, play at your discretion. * Yes, I did "borrow" the graphics from other sources for these projects (Such as the Silent-Hill, Half-Life, Obscure games), which was supposed to be "place-holder" graphics (and in reflecting on it, I probably shouldn't have). The game was just a free non-profit project I made for fun.

You amed way to high, the graphics were amazing and that's were lots of "artist" go over their neck... start simple and give gamers a happy feeling, this game made me "sad" for and left me with an empty feeling, to bad, try again.

The atmosphere is well done, but unfortunately the gameplay quickly devolves into a pixel hunt.

It's a good psychic experience and you should continue it. And make more and more dark and psychopathic stuff like it.

I played this because I recognized the sprite of the main character from Silent Hill 4... It was fun, challenging, and a little creepy. I still haven't beaten it yet because I want to do so without using the Hints and Tips forum.

That was a freakin' awesome game, even if all the graphics and sounds were stolen. I sure hope it gets continued.
