Hi everybody!

'Darkhouse Entertainment' is very happy to announce its first game

D5 - DDDDD - The Draft Drifter Who Dashed Doctor Dunno

~~~~~
Story:
~~~~~

Germany in the year 2002. Young men who turn 18 have to decide whether to attend the German Army for 10 months or do community service instead. During the day these community workers help disabled persons, attend children in kindergarten or work as janitors.
However ... at night ...they show their true colours. They are the best kept secret of the German Secret Service. They are fighting against crime and terror all around the world.
You play Agent Roger who has just been ordered to fly to a forsaken Caribbean island and find out whether or not a strange professor known as "Doctor Dunno" has kidnapped a renowned archaeologist.

This is part one of a two part game.

~~~~~
Features:
~~~~~

-A mysterious Caribbean island and its strange inhabitants (like Kucht, an eccentric showmaster who broadcasts his "Who Want's To Be a Millionair"-like quiz show to non-existent viewers.

-Inventive puzzles (for example how to build a bomb from a coconut)

-Action-packed cutscenes (in 16:9 pana-vista-action-vision)

-Love, Comedy, a little bit stupidity

-Completely translated into English

-two Eastereggs and much more!

~~~~~
Screenshots:
~~~~~

A picture from the action intro sequence: the 5 "D"s of the title logo blasting apart.

This cliff is so high ... you can even see the curvature of the earth! Will Roger ever be able to cross it?

The fantastic SITTM (Smart-Inventory-Technology) in action (trust me, it's really intuitive).

Will Roger be able to turn this shabby bar into aÃ,  disco dance palace? And then - does he really have to?

~~~~~
Progress:
~~~~~

The graphics, sound and scripting of the game are almost finished (at the moment we're implementing some features of AGS version 2.7) - beta testing has already begun. If everything works out fine the game will be release in the next two to three weeks.

Feel free to comment!

Reptile

Looking good man.  ;)

If you want I can supply you with a better roger sprite? like in SQ1, 4 or 5.
(Signature removed due to violation of image size rules).

Gilbert

Heh but it truely adds to the atmosphere of the game if he keeps the original Roger drawn by our infamous Pumaman.

Sztyopek

Looks good, but please do not use Roger's original walking speed.

TheMagician

Thanks for your comments!

@ Reptile:
I wrote you a PM. Your version of Roger could be very useful for part II of the game.

@ Gilbot V7000a:
We'll definitely stick to the original Roger for this game. It just fits the backgrounds better.

@ Sztyopek:
:) The very first thing I did when I began the game three years ago ... was increasing Roger walking speed!

Totoro

Oh my god... a Zivi-Adventure!!!  :o
To be honest, I also felt as being part of a big conspiracy while I was working at the old-peoples-home  ;)

Athirwen

Love the fact that it has an archaeologist in it. It's not often that you see that, being an archaeologist myself it put a huge smile on my face!

Good luck, look forward to seeing  the game completed.

@ Totoro:
Yes, this game is for you!!Ã,  Ã, ;D

@Athirwen:
You are an archaeologist? Cool! What did you specialize in? However, I hope you won't be disappointed by the game Yes, there is an archaeologist, but you won't see much of him. Also, the game's plot is not primarily about the archaeologist ... he mostly serves as a starting point for the story.
However, part II of the game (yes, we havn't even released part I and are already thinking about part IIÃ,  ;) ) will be much more centered around the archaeologist.
Anyhow, thank you very much for your interest in the game!Ã,  :)Ã,  :)

Some more screenshots for you:
~~~~~
Will Roger be able to unleash the secret powers of this old altar deep in the jungle?
And yes, the dark plants in the foreground do have a paralax scrolling effect.Ã,  :)
A pic from the end credits ... thank you so much guys!
I think I have to much free time.
Barbarian
Hey Magician. Looks way kool.
I know you've been working a long time on this project, so it's nice to see you've come so far and almost ready to release the first part.
Of course I'm much looking forwards to playing your game.
Out of curiosity, I noticed on your "end credits" screenshots, somehow my name got snuck on that list  :o   .... So, I thank you *Bows*, however, perhaps I'm unsure as to what I actually did to get a mention on your credits? Was it some piece of advice or help I may have given to you in the past?    Either way, much thanks for taking the effort to stick my name in your credits  ;)
Best wishes, and keep up the good work. I'll check out your game as soon as you release it.
Conan: "To crush your enemies, see them driven before you, and to hear the lamentation of the women!"
Mongol General: "That is good."
Well, I'm doing my degree in archaeology at the moment, and I'm going on a few digs planned over the Summer. I don't particularly specialise in anything specific, but I do enjoy a little Egyptology every now and again!
The new screenies look promising, can't wait for the game play! It's great that you're thinking about a sequel as well. Look forward to that also!
@ Barbarian:
You definitely deserve being mentioned in the credits. When I worked on the end credits I typed my nickname into the forum search engine to look who helped me most with all my questions. You were one of the top 5  :D
@Athirwen:
I wish you good luck with your degree in archaeology. I'm really interested in the Anazazi and the Maya culture ...
Have fun playing the game as it is now officially released. Click here to go to the download page
