Title: Background on different layers? (SOLVED)
Post by: Fugu on Tue 23/08/2005 18:25:23
Hi...maybe this question was already answered in another thread (if so, please tell me just where i can find it)..
I wonder if its somehow possible to create backrounds/foregrounds in AGS with different layers, that move with different speed (like slower mountains in the distance and faster objects, like trees that are closer to the scene...the parallax principle)...to reach an more dimensional and deeper look...

i hope somebody can answer with an confident "Sure it is son...! Just open the hidden menu and press the Paralaxbutton!" :P
...or any other possibility..

Sure it is son...! Just use the ParalaxScrolling plugin! You'll need a bit of scripting, though - nothing major.

You can find it in the resource site in my sig.

Edit by strazer: Or, to avoid the plugin, use Gilbot's code (http://www.adventuregamestudio.co.uk/yabb/index.php?topic=22413.msg274395#msg274395).

Well, it's almost as simple. Use the parallax plugin :)

Edit: Oh, Rui beat me to it
