Hi everyone!

Yes I know an extremely late reply to this post but I just can't stand it anymore... I made the definitive switch to linux operating systems a few years ago, not too long after I discovered AGS actually. Seeing AGS being tied to some proprietary platform with little or discontinued linux support keeps bugging me. It's a great program with good community projects, I really enjoyed a lot of the games.

Developers are probably not waiting for my pleas, but still... I urge to seriously reconsider licensing AGS under an open source license. I read the main developer had some bad experience in the past, but with this community tied to AGS already it doesn't matter if someone takes the code elsewhere. The community (and developers therein) will stay and go on that's what makes the project. Sometimes somebody taking the code and playing around with it means they become involved in the main project. That's the open source way. If some jerk decides to make a fork, let them have a go! It will have to be awesome in order to be accepted and if it is, it's awesome! Anyway you look at it, it's a win for the program and the community.

Once again, please don't consider this as an AGS (policy) bashing post, it's a great program! I just suggest to hand it over to the community and have some faith.
