Title: Crash importing GIF images (FIXED)
Post by: manny.p on Tue 21/06/2005 17:13:36
If you import a background image which is in .gif format, it crashes ags :o, i tried it on several different games. :P

(Exception 0x00000000 at EIP=0x00000000, AGSEDIT v2.70.601, SIP=26)

Doesn't look like a very good crash error to me, but what am i to say, i can't program.

Works fine here.
How and where do you import it exactly?
What colour depth and resolution do your games have?
Could you please upload (http://www.adventuregamestudio.co.uk/yabb/index.php?topic=3584) the gif you're trying to use?

Yes, please upload the GIF file. It is probably incompatible with the AGS GIF loader for some reason.

Try padding them out to 200 (or 240) high.

Yep, my AGS crashes too if I try to import them. It works after I opened and saved them again in the GIMP.

Ok, I've reported the bug to the author of the GIF importer, and we're working on a fix.

Edit by strazer:

AGS v2.71 Beta 2:
  * Fixed GIF import crash with some gif images (thanks to Hard Rock for the speedy fix)
