Hopefully I won't be slapped silly with a moist trout for this one.
My old computer was low on space, so I deleted AGS with great regret. Now I have more time (and more space on my new hard drive) I reinstalled AGS, newest version, so I could continue working on my old game.
When I try to access the game file I was creating, it doesn't show up on the 'open previous game' window in AGS at all. When I search in my own files while NOT on AGS, it WILL show up. But it won't open. Instead, it gives me the following error message:
"ACI version: 3.12.1074
"Error: unable to load font 0. No renderer could load a matching file."
Then it advises me to come here 'if the problem persists.'
It persists.
Hunting around here, I found a discussion that advised me to find the file for "font 0" and delete it, with the assumption that the file would revert to the default font. I found the file and moved it to the recycle bin, and tried again. I got the same error message.
I was definitely working with another version of AGS before this (late 2009), so it may not be compatible. I tried downloading the OLD version of AGS on the downloads page, but the result was the same. Do I have to uninstall the new version, first, forcing the game to be accessed by the old version? Or is the version of AGS not the problem at all? I am here more for my love of old computer games than my love/knowledge of programming, so use small words and speak slowly, please. ???
Sorry if this is TL;DR, but I wanted you guys to know what I'd already tried. Thank you for any help you can give. :)

I uninstalled the new version entirely and tried to run the game from the old(est) available version. It still doesn't show up. :'(
Please let me know if I am asking in the wrong area of the boards.
I also apologize for repeat posting, but I wanted to add that I'd tried something new and it still gives me the same error message.

You are executing the game (the exe file) from the folder "_Debug", you must execute it from the "Compiled" folder.
