I finally found a program to make Flic animations, but when I made one I saved it as FLIC1.flc into the compiled folder, but when AGS plays it only little chucks show up and they flash on and off and the screen is all black. Whats happening?
Errr... What resolution is the Flic in?
What do you mean...My game is 16 bit....Im not sure about Flic, Ill check. The only thing I could see before was size, which is 800x600 same with game. I'll look for the Flic's resolution...
Yeah, I mean check for the screen size of the Flic, Flics are always <257 colours anyway.
Will a Flic still work in a 16 bit game if its always 256 colours? Sorry, I don't know much about ags.
i had to run mine at 256 at 320 200, (it may work at 640-400 i never tryed) when i first did mine it came out as blocks and was screwed up.....sooo the first frame use a solid colour (i used red) and fade it into you first frame of your animation, this seemed to stop it been jumbled up
Hey, Thanks. I'll try that. ;)
I use Animation Shop 3 do some animations (e. g. Falling through bridge) but when AGS/my game plays them, They screw up and the screen goes black....Things pop into veiw and go off etc..Whats going on?
Did you make them at 256-colours?
What resolution?
Im not sure about the resolutions, but flics still work in a 16-bit game right? I'll check and see what their resolution is.
Why you have made two posts? One in the beginners forum and one in the Tech forum. You could get answer with one post, there is no need to make two.
Lol sorry about that...I forgot about the one in this technicall form
*This just became a classic example of a merged topic.
flics may well not work in 16-bit games - they are only supported in 256-colours.
I kind of by passed it not working in a 16-bit game, by adding to red screens to the beginning of the flic..The red screens don't really show but the flics shows up right now
strange... still, glad it's sorted
strange i know, but hey it works ;)
