Hi I was wondering if anyone has any experience with this idea:

You can rotate your view with your mouse and shoot at enemies as they fly towards you. The view would be first person.

(btw, I scoured the search and found nothing remotely helpful)

For true 3-d games such as an FPS, I would recommend using e.g. OpenGL rather than AGS.

Depends on how you want it to be, AGS definitely wasn't designed for this sort of stuff.

But still, it's possible for simple ones, like this one which I quickly mucked up (crappy coding and loads of bugs, need AGS V2.71+ if you want to check the source and compile).

Edited: I forgot to uncomment a line, so the game is invincible, if you really want to die, open up room1 script and look for the line:
//lives--;
uncomment this and recompile for a more "realistic" version. ;) (I'm too lazy to re-upload.)

Thanks Gilbott! EXACTLY WHAT I NEED!
and I had also wanted to know to create one of those radar thingies at the bottom right corner of the screen. Thanks God bless you.
:)

Damn! I've been playing around with something like this for months. I was hoping to unleash it's awesomeness here when it was done.

Now my thunder has been stolen!

What will I do with myself now? Who will be impressed with my "also ran" status? How can I ever learn to love again?!?

*sob*  :'(

Oh well, there's always beer.

Sorry Ponch (lies ;)), I know how you feel. But as my crappy game was just put together in a very short time, obviously it wouldn't reach the standard of what you're doing (it does have AWESUME graphics as it uses default graphics made by our almighty art person), as you had put together time and effort into it (and no matter what my game had served its purpose anyway).

Just continue on your good work and I'm sure we'll all be impressed! :D
