Title: "Room does not exist" ... Can any1 help?
Post by: on Sat 09/10/2004 19:26:48
It's my first time making a game. I've imported a room, made masks and everything for it, and when I save, it says "The starting room you have specified does not appear to exist."
Am I doing something wrong? I imported in with the right colors and size and everything. Can anyone help please?

What did you save the room as? What file name did you give it?

By the way, for future reference this really should go in the Beginners Tech Froum.

I see the problem. You renamed the room file other than roomx.crm. It happens to me when I forgot what I should to when I start a new room in AGS.

Do we at the Beginners' Tech Forum smell or something? :P A common mistake, and both Pummelman and Edwin are correct. You must specify what room # your character(s) start off in. If it's 1 or above, AGS will look for a ROOMX.CRM file. If it's 0, AGS will load the INTRO.CRM file. :)
