Decaffeinated Jedi

I'd like to offer Late Last Nite up for consideration in the Best Short Game category and Chadwick the talking owl as Best Character. Originally created for the 2015 AdventureJam, Late Last Nite is a surreal point-and-click adventure in the style of LucasArts and Sierra classics.

Join our protagonist Morgan as she stumbles through a series of bizarre fantasy settings -- a mer-pirate lagoon, a junk food forest, and a steampunk vampire nightclub -- in search of three missing relics. How will her night end? It's up to you to decide!

Features:

  • Classic point-and-click adventuring.
  • Nearly an hour of puzzle-solving gameplay.
  • Gorgeous 2D graphics (with the occasional 3D-rendered vampire thrown in for good measure).
  • A catchy original soundtrack.
  • A shocking twist ending that will cause you to question everything you've ever believed about life.
  • So many hotspot interactions that you'll joy puke.
  • A talking owl.

2015 AdventureJam Judge's Pick!

"A wonderfully off-the wall adventure gaming experience, which dances the line between absurdity and esoteric." -- Steven Alexander, Infamous Quests

"Playing this crazy hilarious adventure game will literally kill you when your mind explodes." -- @bear_vs_sumo

"Really funny. Loved the twist ending." -- @YesItsColin

For Your Consideration: The Knobbly Crook: Chapter I - The Horse You Sailed In On
by Gnarled Scar Manipulations

Enter the surreal, disturbing, and ridiculous world of the Knobbly Crook in the first chapter of this old-school point and click adventure. O'Sirus the Snip is a simple paper farmer driven to epic adventure by a spooky face with a spookier voice. He will ultimately seek to become a Knobbcrookian royal guard, a Guffaloon. Stories of their heroic battles against the fearsome Bogold empire echo throughout the Crook. Unfortunately, they're not currently recruiting simple paper farmers. He's going to have to use every dirty trick in his book to cheat his way to the top and that means YOU will need to understand the key elements of the Knobbly Crook - Rock, Paper, and Scissors. Creatures of stone crush the metallic Knobbcrookians. The Knobbcrookians herd and farm paper animals. Fearsome stone giants fear tiny paper animals.

In the first chapter, The Horse You Sailed In On, O'Sirus finds himself on trial for all the crimes you have not yet committed. Retell his nonsensical story as his journey begins, finding himself a stowaway on a ship that is half horse, half boat, and half whale. Every moment that passes takes you further from your goal--the Knobbly Crook. It's up to you to torment the Drafthorse's unsuspecting crew in an attempt to alter their course.

Notes:

  • The Knobbly Crook is freeware.
  • It features a completely fictional and fully voice-acted language.
  • There are at least three moist holes in this chapter alone.
  • All artwork is mouse-drawn because you can't have art without pain.
  • If there is a category for "best use of a colon extractor," please do not nominate the Knobbly Crook. We need to stop giving these things attention.

This is exciting! I had no idea that the AGS community did this.
I made Interstellar Borders, Throw Me in the River and An Anxious Awakening last year, and would love it if you played them.
Interstellar Borders is a campy sci fi story, Throw Me in the River is a drama that reflects on regret in life and familial conflict, and An Anxious Awakening is a drama that studies anxiety and the mourning process.
All three games are between 8 and 15 minutes long, and are more narrative driven.

Thank you so much, and I appreciate seeing my games on the nominees list!
