So I was flicking through the new issue of Hyper, and I came across this article which was pleasant surprise.

Neat article. Near the end he talks about how he asked for donations but it didn't work. I did donate a few dollars myself, I guess not many other people did... :(
Oh look, there's a link to my site! Hello link! I hope you're doing ok all alone in that magazine!
Please don't bring a lot of people asking me to make art for them! Thank you!
It's a nice article, some things I don't quite agree with but oh well! I didn't buy the magazine!
"Escape from Helm's House" has been frozen in production. Direction of project is now being reconsidered
And it's actually given me hope for those ideas in my head to actually become a game rather than stay in that notepad for eternity. I hate sprites...
Hey my game was never on any shelves. :P
But nonetheless a good read.
hey fatman creator! Your link to your game is broke or something, it was a while ago I suppose, has it been fixed yet? I wanna play it!
Unfortunatly, Ionias has made the game Abandonware. Goto www.the-underdogs.org to download. I hope I am not breaking any forum rules here by saying this. I just read them and I dont remember seeing it in there. So sorry if I did break them.
Oh now I remember! Silly me!
Yeah the underdogs site never works for me! It says "out of date" or "you are a bot!" or something along those lines...

I have no idea where you could find the game online if the underdogs site doesn't work for you. Even without the voices its still a sizeable download, nothing I could host.
The ISO CD image can be found on the eDonkey file-sharing network. Also, http://www.legaltorrents.com/ has it.

With voices. Also, a search would have turned it up too. :=
Thanks, I'm downloading it now!
It has voices, too? Cool! (Actually, I know very little about this game)
I'm guessing it has no relation to that amiga platformer game called fatman?

Hmmm, I could host it at adventuredevelopers.com. Do I have permission to use the installation on the official CD-Rom I bought? (I assume it's not different from the download at Underdogs?)

I'd guess yes. Since its abandonware now. And Im 99% sure its no different
The underdogs has no voice pack, Erwin.
http://software01.archive.org/1/items/the-adventures-of-fatman-pc/ <---Another place Fatman with voice pack is hosted.
I was playing the game last night! (And the speech pack IS worth downloading!)
Everything seems excellent about it so far! Except fatman could walk a bit faster (Okay he IS fat) and the sudden deaths are a bit cheesy. (So I've put it on easy. Hey don't mock me! Don't you know who I am? I beat ninja Gaiden!)
Was the appearance of AGS in GameMaker magazine (RIP) ever noticed in here?
Options -> Walk speed ;)
only changed fatmans walking speed, not game speed

Yep ... it and some others are listed here:

Don't follow the links in that post though, they're all to agsforums.com which has now been bought by the domain stranglers!
Cool, cool.
I still have the magazine here, I was drooling over the pages for ages thinking of the games I could make!
The last time I got to make games being an amateur was the shoot em up construction kit on the C64.
Thanks Elliott! I hadn't thought of looking in the options!

Do as you please my good man.
