We think this is a good idea, but are people really going to flock there to do work for other people?

What I meant by 'doing work' for other people, is that they can choose to do it for free, or pay. It isn't totally up to the Director/Creator of the game,  but if the Director wants it to be a non-pay game, then whoever wants to do it for fun... can.

I agree with Candle. Is there any reason why it can't be viewable by visitors?

And, is there any reason why the forum generates 'strength, defence and knowledge' skills when I try to sign up?

Hm, let's see, the forum RPG. For every member we'd need stats for helpfulness, intelligence, patience, flameability and general cluefulness. Plus sense of humor, probably, and a number of HP (hunger points) before he has to go AFK to get some snacks. Now I don't want to make this game by myself but if somebody else does I'd be happy to take the credit...
:D

Radiant: And, is there any reason why the forum generates 'strength, defence and knowledge' skills when I try to sign up?

Guys I'm sorry about that. This site used to be one of my Online RPG. I forgot about the application page.

BOYD1981: so it's basically like the ACR thread?

Well not quite, because (I find) the ACR thread to be kind of difficult to work with. This site is GOING to be an easy to use place.

I was going to continue making the site today, but unfortunately I couldn't. I'm sorry again, but I'll re-post when it's ready.

Well, I've signed up, might find this useful someday, though I like making games alone for now, but if I can help others with something later on then sure. :)

Edit: Ok, some feedback (the forum is kinda empty, ;)).
I think you only need one competition forum, though I don't what system you'll use for seperating the three (rules, entries, results), so maybe just leave it like it is for now.
Are you planning on adding game making competition (in teams) with password protected threads possibly? That's something I find really interesting, making a game with a group of random people.
I reccomend you make a sticky thread in each forum with rules of posting and explanations, etc.. Some of the forum descriptions have text like: "Make sure you have read the Rules of how to post in this section!" which pretty much demands that there be rules somewhere.
I'm very interested in this Game Journal thing, what will it be?

GinnyW,

Thanks a heap for joining and giving some feedback.
I am trying as hard as I can to create this site, but it will get done! :)
The Forums are empty because noone really knows about the site, but hopefully THIS IS A GOOD ADVERT FOR IT!

There is a Team Creation Forum under Game Creation, you may not have seen it. That's where all of the Joining and Creating of Teams take place. Do you think it's a good idea if I split it into two different forums, Creating and Joining.

Also, incase any of you were wondering what the Competitions are actually gonna be, they're kinda like MAGS. But when you submit your entry, you will get put into a random group with some other people, and try and build a game with certain requirements... TOGETHER!
Only enter a competition if you are able to WORK in a team!

Chris Jones.. I'm sorry that I forgot, but may I have permission to Advert this site here?   ???

Thanks,
Ez

Ahhh yes... the Game Journals. It's going to be one of the greatest things in Game Team Design. If the game creators wish to, they can keep a personalized Game Journal where they basically fill everyone else in on how the game is going. There are seperate pages for each Journal, and they can have screenshots, information, and basically the Creators are the Moderators of their own Journal. They have their own newsboard on the game etc.
But I'd just like to point out now that Game Journals are ONLY for people who have started a game (even if it's only one page of story). Game Journals are created through me and if I see someone abusing it (using it for other things), then that Journal will be DESTROYED. And you may be banned from a few different things.
I'm still working on the site and if anyone has any suggestions, criticisms, comments or anything PLEASE tell me. I want to make this site as enjoyable as it can be for everyone!

How in the world did I end up at the "Board Game Designers Forum" instead? http://www.bgdf.com/index.php

(no big deal -- I made it to the right site eventually, but I was pretty confused for a while there... weird...)

Yep, happened to me too. I clicked Messaging and suddenly the menu seemed a bit different, aswell as the whole site having some large white space on the left, and then when I clicked some other link I got there.
The next time I went to messaging in the site everything was fine. Bug?

The site has been updated once more. Now there is a help page, but still need to put in more Q&A. I have made my own little banner (in like 2 mins) and it's a piece of crap! The link is up the top, but if anyone wants to make it I'd really appreciate it.
Also, I need some Mods for the site.
If you wanna be a moderator then MAKE MY LOGO!
Nah, just kidding.. If anyone wants to be a moderator then just ask me.

But seriously... I need a banner urgently.

Thanks again guys,
Ezra

I really like the banner! Adventure Games Live on! I love the idea of having the pulse meter thingy there :) Perhaps the background texture and the text (Game Team Design) could be more simplified in color, but other than that it's great! If you want it animated i'd suggest animating the pulse meter.

Oh, and I might like to be a mod if you want. :)

Forums are looking great! You'll need to register a seperate Forum Account, but it's bloody awesome. Plus, at http://www.geocities.com/gameteamdesign/links.html, you can send us an advertisement of your site if you put our banner on your site. The first ones get the top of the list!

Raggit, you'll need to register again at the new site. Just click on Forums and then it'll ask you to register. Also, this way it'll be an automatic registration. The other one wasn't!

Sorry about the change of sites, but it's soooo much easier and quicker!
