drawng my own characters and making them walk

I'm still got problems drawing my own charecters, i can draw a guy on paint and think i like hhim, and to start of he is way to big for my back ground. then ill try to do the frame by frame drawing part so he walks, but what ever i do they always ended up irish dancing allover the screen, i took a tuorial about 3 frame walks but im well stuck, any one no what i can do, or lend  there drawing skills, i do it all on paint , and i can get a character that looks good, but i want a persoon who  is to scale, and doesnt irish dance all over my screen, pls pls pls pls, help, ive spent the last 2 days just serching the web for some kinda program that draws tem frame by frame for you, but no such luck, can any one do any thing please

No, I don't think there are any anti-Irish dancing programs.  ;)

You probably need to get yourself a better program (I don't think Paint supports layers).

Then you draw a character (remember, if your background is 640x400 pixels, you have to choose a size for the character which looks right for your background - just estimate it by eye).

Once you have drawn your character, you create a new layer. This is because with a new layer you can draw seeing what's underneath but without ruining it all.

You draw a different walking frame on each layer. Then you save each layer as a different file.

BTW, have you checked the tutorial thread on the Critics Lounge forum? There's lots of useful stuff there.  :)

WHat do you mean by Irish dancing anyway? Maybe you coudl save the character and post the .cha file?

cheers, um what software should  use, and do you know where i can get it?, i'm 15 and only have my own crappy little comp, so im limitd to pain at the moment. :D any clues what to use, and where i can get it? pls

Would it any one be able to help if i drew the charecter standing still then saved that as the first frame ofmy walking down sequence, then posted it in a message some how? so you could look and help, (sos i hate to be an anoying newbie)
