Greetings all,
There's been a project brewing between me and my design partner for a few months now. You might have read about it in a recent "A" Zine interview (http://www.sylpher.com/a/art.php?artid=53), and here is the official announcement. The game is called Crooked Mile, and it's a Police Quest-style point & click adventure. We're looking to create a compelling, interesting throwback to Golden Age adventures, and we believe we've come up with a great police detective story as well as some other great ideas.
Now we need some help on the technical side. We're looking for one or two artists, an animator, and a music/sound coordinator to join Wind Tunnel Studios. We are planning to release this game commercially, so there will be some financial compensation involved. We can discuss all the details. We're looking for serious, long-term commitments, as we have tentative plans for multiple games beyond this one.
If you are at all interested in being a part of this project, please e-mail us at windtunnelstudios@yahoo.com. We'd love to discuss our project further with you.
I am well aware of the community attitude towards posts like these, but I am hoping that most of you know me well enough to believe that this is for real.
Thanks!
-Dave
Hmm,
I would join the project but the fact that the leader is going to get lost in Hong Kong within few hours puts me off somehow ;D.
Pah! Where are the demo screenshots and character animations, eh? Where are the plot descriptions? You n00bs think you can just come on here, announce a game and half a sentence of descrption and then do the usual asking for "Animators, artists and musicians". Typical. So STFU n00b!
Oh, it's you Dave. Well, just becuase you've produced some excellent games and won awards and stuff don't think that we'll take you any more seriously. Actually, I'm just upset that you're looking for people to join the project in areas that I'm not so good in. :'(

That's why we need artists, silly. :p
I would offer to help (and I would have loved it if I could have) . But I lack the talent needed, and am already pretty busy. Rock on though, sounds like a pretty sweet idea...
another police quest kinda game? i guess i have some competition

I would love to help Dave, but currently all my time goes to my Infamous Adventurers projects (All one of them, :p). If I had more time though...
The game sounds great already. I have high confidence that'll it'll be awesome, and who knows, maybe I'l even buy a copy when it comes out ;)
I don't think there'll be much help here, as everyone (including me) is working on their own projects. Try the more hardcore gaming sites, like Gamespot (http://forums.gamespot.com). There's a lot of great artists there.
I've sent you a mail, Dave. Have you received it?
I would love to help with some art, Dave, but I'm not sure if I'm qualified enough to make them... It all depends on what style you are looking for.
But good luck anyway!
This sounds like a great project. Unfortunately, I'm much to busy with future games for Herculean Effort Productions (like Apprentice 2 and The Find). Otherwise, I would be interested in applying for the job. :)
I shall raise a hand for music...
oh wait... I already pm'd you....
I would love to help but all I can draw are kwazy cartoon people with freakishly big eyes...
Why it happens that when one of my favourites (amateur) adventure developers asks for help, he asks for it in areas I'm not THAT good in?
Damn you, Dave! :P
I'd be interested in character design and animation - I'd also do backgrounds if i didn't suck ass!!
(youv'e seen some of my stuff bfore but I'll send you some if you had something specific in mind.)
