Dilemma

I have a problem. The game I am currently working on is a RON game. I drew some characters in paint but didn't like them that much so I redrew them with the GIMP. After that, I drew backgrounds which changed the feel of the game. I feel that the game I am working on is very un-like a RON game, but I have used RON characters and names and, although the first 6 or 7 rooms (the only ones I have done yet) don't actually take place in RON, the main character will end up in RON yet the game is becoming less and less of a RON game. I like the way the game is going and I will keep it going in that direction but I don't know if I should change the characters and locations and make it a non-RON game or just keep it as a RON game. If I change the game I will have to re-do some story elements, re-draw some charachters and re-locate a large part of the game. I like what I have so far but it isn't a RON game so I'm leaning towards changing it, but I like the character art I have done and I won't be able to use some clever dialogs about Reality and reality....I don't know what to do. The Reality/reality dialogs are very important to the story yet the game isn't humourous like RON games are, and is instead quite a serious and thoughtful game. I'd like to tell you all about the story, but I don't want to give it away. Please give me some of your thoughts....

This should really go on the RON forums, but since the RON forums are down at the moment, this will have to do.

There are no rules governing RON (besides killing off major characters or blowing up the town).  As long as it takes place in the "Roniverse," anything goes.  It doesn't matter if it's serious.  Actually, I'd like to see a darkly serious RON game.  So I say go for it.

If you are still concerned about it, PM your plot synopsis to me and I'll tell you what I think.
