Lapaset 2009 - CANCELLED!

Last year people seemed to be busy with all sortsa stuff so Lapaset failed to be arranged. Well, it's gonna be back this year, assuming enough people are interested.

To those of you who have no idea what I'm talking about, Lapaset is the Finnish equivalent for Mittens. It's an AGS meeting that was first arranged in 2006 by Haddas in his home in Liljendal and the following year it was co-hosted by Visy and Tuomas in Tampere. ~~It is not yet confirmed but it's likely to be arranged in Liljendal again this year.~~ It has been confirmed! Lapaset 2009 will be held in Liljendal, Finland.

Most Finnish regulars and some folks from outside of Finland have already shown keen interest in going this year. Anyone is welcome! If you want to join the fun please post in this topic! I will gather a list of all the confirmed attendees in this post. You can also post any questions you might have.

Date: Monday, 8th June - Sunday, 14th June
Place: Liljendal, Finland. Haddas' parents' house.

I'm definitely interested if I can find a cheap flight to Helsinki - I have some friends there, so maybe I could stay with them and explore the city for a couple of days before coming to Lapaset. Any idea how much it would cost to get from Helsinki to Liljendal? I was trying to look up trains, but there wasn't any station listed for Liljendal.

Edit: OK, I found information on how to get there by bus. Takes about an hour and a half, so that seems manageable.

I am certainly interested myself. I would love for everyone of you to come to Liljendal and party with me for a week. I have many fond memories of that year. This year would require even more planning, as well as less planning. Not having a plan suited everyone fine the last time around. I'll have to hear with my parents (it is their house, after all) about a million nerds cramming into their house again. There's still plenty of time for people to show interest and decide on whether or not to come. In fact, I'll need to see what sort of interest is shown towards Lapaset for me to properly plan the event.

There will be charred burgers.

Believe it or not, but I've never been to Finland. I do have some music from there (shame Petri Walli killed himself - I really liked Kingston Wall, but Hidria Spacefolk are good too). So put me on the "interested" list.

Well, as for me, I've got a job for the summer, but it doesn't require a location, so in case my girlfriend gets a job in helsinki, that's where I'll be spending my summer. With that, anyone who's coming here by plane shall be helped about by me. And it it so happens, I might just drag my girl with me. But at the moment, well. Expect me to join with onyl a small if there. It might be hard to leave on a long trip if I was in Jyväskylä at the time. And because a laptop is a laptop despite its location, I'll be ok with times between 1st may and 1st September, but not the whole time

Also, bloody yay for Lapaset again. Expect two guitars and flutes and mouthorgans to be there. And pongos too!

Nothing wrong with the date. But I probably cannot afford to be away from the work during the week, so I might have to settle for a weekend package. But who knows, maybe I don't have a job anymore in the summer.

Have you had sex without a condom for a longer period of time? If yes, then your penis may have become accustomed to the greater sexual experienced resulting from the greater friction and contact.
If no, then maybe the condom is too small or you're using it the wrong way. You do not reveal anything about the WAY you use condoms.

Language is not an issue. Even though we were 90% finns the last time we almost exclusively talked english (because it's FUN!), talking finnish only when only finns were around. But the more foreigners the better, ~~the potion will work better~~ it's more fun that way

Just kidding, but I do want to hear some suggestion regarding the dates.

Friday, 12th June - Thursday, 18th June is the planned one. Be there or be octagonal.

Also what sort of activities would you like to have? Back in 2006 we did nothing*, but damnit we had fun.

*Apart from:
- Making a gigantic game
- Visiting two separate towns
- Eating kebab in those two towns
- Got our bikes stolen
- Got interviewed for the papers (JetXL saved a lady from a burning restaurant)
- Went swimming
- Ate ice cream
- Stayed up late talking about nothing in particular
- Watched MST3K
- Had a quiz
- Watched the TV-show #AGS on the IRC channel
- Raped my synth
- Watched kitten wrestling
- Played Ninja Baseball Batman
- Smelt of sweat (it was on a thursday i think)
- Set the BBQ on fire
- Made offerings to the mole people
- There is no mole people
- Went to the Sauna
- Took a group picture
- Pablo wore his sleeping bag as a suit.
- Some of us drank alcohol

And most importantly:
- Had a wonderful time

The earlier date is exactly where I've got tickets for the Provinssi-rock festivals and the latter is where I've got entrance exams. The later then would be Mid-summer, right? damnit. Me going there for a week before that alone is just a bit absurd and I don't see the point in travelling all the way for a just the weekend so...
