Hello, all. I had a quick browse around the forums and, sure enough, I'm afraid I don't recognize all of you. Still, one of you may be able to help me. I'm Phil Reed...creator of the Larry Vales series.
If you've gone to my website (www.phil-reed.com) you've probably noticed the Larry Vales section is a bit understocked. Well...
1) I will "need" somebody to host Larry Vales I and II, as my college account (within which they were formerly housed) has been deleted. (Only because I graduated. Selfish.) This isn't so pressing because, if need be, I'll just link to the download page at The Underdogs.
2) I need a copy of the Larry Vales III demo. I don't have mine and haven't been able to find anywhere to download it...though I'm sure it's floating around out there somewhere.
3) If at all possible, I'd also like the Larry Vales II "American Beauty" teaser I did. That's something else I lost in my computer crash and I'd like to put that up for download as well.
If anybody can help, either contact me through my site (secure) or post here. I'd very much appreciate it.
Look. A Larry Vales smiley. That wasn't here before. It makes me feel very loved. :=
I have the Larry Vales III demo.
Just PM me with your email address and I'll send it right away.
... does that also mean, you can't retrieve your original game resources anymore?
/me still dreams of seeing the completion of LV3, so he never downloads that demo thing.
Yeah Phil, we still love you even though you abandoned AGS.
Couldn't underdogs host Larry Vales for you? They host a bunch of RON games. That might be more reliable than some member that might disappear at any moment. :=
P.S. I'll host LV3 when you finish it.
MAC LOVER!
It's ok thought, because I'm in Guitarman now. ;)
So we all forgive you.
Igreiga.org (http://www.igreiga.org/webhosting) is a great host that includes a free plan.
Phil! We remember you and love you in a very homoerotic manner.
I suppose I can host, but I have no idea how much bandwidth a month I get. Anyway I can give you the address

Anywhoodle yes we do remember you Phil ;) as you have seen by your own larry smilie. God Bless those sideburns.
Wow, good to see some familiar faces posting.
Thanks for all the help, everyone. I guess there's no chance anyone out there still has the LVII teaser?
I'm on my way to work so if I don't reply to you personally it means I hate you. I'm not kidding. Your mother should die.
al_ninio:
Done. And THANK YOU.
gilbot:
The resources, I'm nearly positive, still exist on my old harddrive. If I could plug it into a working computer I can get them back. Also, after I move (very soon) I'm considering getting a cheap Windows-based computer so that I can use AGS again and finish (or re-start) LVIII again. Don't get your hopes up TOO high just yet, but it's a serious consideration.
stevemccrea:
See above. I wouldn't have abandoned AGS except that I switch to the Macintosh platform...and I understand completely why Chris hasn't ported it.
jay:
Looking into it. Thank you.
Helm:
moan.
Magintz:
Thanks very much for the offer. The web address doesn't concern me too much because I'd just link to the files and provide a nice spiffy link to your site. I'll let you know very soon.
as far as I can remember didn't someone just port AGS to Mac?
EDIT: Yes - http://www.adventuregamestudio.co.uk/yabb/index.php?topic=21531.0
Only the runtime thingy-ma-jooble, not the editor though. Rodekill made 'Rode Quest 2' on a Mac using Virtual PC... I think... might be something worth looking into.
Simple, I still claim the rights to that Richard Longhurst / Larry Vales crossover game you said I could make. I realise that it's been YEARS since I said I'd make it, and I still haven't - but I AM going to and it IS all planned out and stuff... But I thought I'd remind you so that you're not upset when I do it without asking you again.
Also, our child is nearly 6 now, and you STILL haven't decided on a name for it. Things are starting to get awkward!
EDIT :- P.S. I'm sorry I am totally un-able to help on the subject of this thread... But thought I'd show my face anyway.

Got a few hundred gb of spare bandwidth per month currently, so hopefully that should not be a problem, you can link to the files.
I can host host 'em too if it'll help at all.
The least I can do after disappearing on you for that cover art thingy. Doh.
:= := := := := := := := := := := := :=
http://www.adventuredevelopers.com can also host your site. Think about it; a nifty yourname.adventuredevelopers.com url, unlimited bandwitdh and space. ;)
PM me if you're interested. :=

Screen 7.co.uk can do something with you too! :=
QuoteLarry Vales needs you.
Larry Vales could also use a re-compile under a newer AGS version because he crashes on me all the time. Even with VDMSound. Would that be possible somehow? :=
Did anyone buy your skin for tatoo commercial?
(Or am I completely out of sence here, in wich case you may feel free to ignore this post)?
http://xthost.info There's a limit for 30 megs, I think. Other than that, it's a great and fast host. You don't have to enter any personal information, just create an account and upload the stuff. :=
Thanks for everyone's offers. I'll link to the files that Scotch was wonderful enough to upload for me before I even had to ask him to later on tonight. If you want a specific link back to your site in return, please let me know.
Furthermore:
Cpt Mostly:
I love and miss you very much. Name our child Otis.
Rode:
Yeah, I wondered what happened. I kind of figured you were angry with me or something...anyway, I have a potential project on the horizon that would be well-paying AND high-exposure. Leave a comment on my site (www.phil-reed.com) so that I have your email address, I'd like to have you aboard.
Erwin:
I was one of the original signups for adventuredevelopers when it came about...but it wasn't very reliable and eventually all of my files just got erased...that's part of the reason I lost the trailer for LVII. But I appreciate the offer.
Mods:
Do you still happen to have a copy of that interview we did about LV? I'll need it if you do.
Bernie:
No.
Boris:
No.
Thanks, gents!
Yeah, I don't actually remember what happened with that.
Sorry though.
I'm sure there's a half decent excuse, like saving the Milky Way from giant crabs or something.

Digging up a thread more than 8 months old may not help much. :P

SWEET! That is the best news i've seen in a long time! haha get it?
Yes, in a long time... :=
Finally! People whose nicknames sound familiar! Posting in thread because of its general awesomeness.
Let's do this: You make Larry Vales III, and I _won't_ make Lassi Quest 2.
Thus providing the world with a double serving of pie made of awesome, pure, while, gold and win.
