Well, I have to say that I have quite disappointed with the lack of new AGS games coming out. I see that there are many, many ones that are in progress but from what I understand, a great deal of those end up dying. I really can't imagine how much work and time really has to go in to creating a decent AGS game. But I would think that there would be some new ones popping up here and there. Anyone else feeling me??? 8)

There are hundreds and hundreds of AGS games available to play. You can't tell me you beat them all
Or feel free to make your own. That's the beauty of it.
Also, there are plenty of freeware games made by other engines out there to tide you over until something you want to play comes out for AGS. Patience is a virtue.
Games die during production...that's just a way of life. If there wasn't a games in production board we'd hear about less than 10% of games in progress, im sure - so it's probably just because of that forum that we then think not much is happening. I agree, a ridiculous amount of games don't get made - but a buttload of genuinly good ones still do.
I know this is off AGS a little but does anyone know of any really good freeware adventure games? And where to get them at???

www.adventuregamers.com Underground section reviews many AGS and non-AGS games. There are also many mentioned in the forums there. For example: Frasse and the Peas of Kejick, TGTTPOA Cruise Ship, Out of Order, etc.
Or if you like action adventures, try Steve Ince's Mr Smoozles demo.
Not many games released? The heck are you talking about. There are at least two AGS games released every week!
Other adventure games?

Look on those newsground-like sites and search for adventures.
Projects die becase of poor design which drives the production to a dead end, or because people working alone get bored of working on them, or because teams are too loosely tied together and members go MIA, get into arguments or just generally lose interest because other team members don't do anything. The time isn't a factor if the team is working... untill the project has been going for too long. And too long is subjective to people.
It's just how it goes. As ProgZ said, patience is a virtue.

what in jesus christ does that actually mean?
I reckon that the reason so many games die is because there are so many people with big huge ideas and unfortunatly dont have the skills to match it , like myself.
A good idea to one person can also seem pretty lame to another we should have a section where people state their idea and if others like it they can chip in and if they dont then do not state that it is a bad idea as this makes the creators less confident
I myself have a grand idea for a game unoriginal as it may seem but by my estimations if i continue alone it will take until i am 40 (currently 22 )Ã,Â
This may seem as though it wont help but this is the general idea
Ã, Ã, Ã, Ã,Â
Create a poll section within this site and users can use it to basically advertise there game using all space they wantÃ,Â
Then follows a yes or no poll basically saying Do you like my idea and would like to helpÃ, Ã,Â
Reader clicks yes
Reader leaves details of themselves and what they can offer
this enables the creator of the game to decide whether or not to start asking these people forÃ, help

Kinda like an interview

Listen to The Beatles - I Am The Walrus. No wait, watch the video, you won't be dissapointed (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=b7g2by_X4Fg)
Quotethis enables the originator to decide whether or not to start asking these people for help
Yes, this is a bad idea. Depersonalizing and automating a procedure that should be very hands-on (:asking for HELP) why? This isn't the classifieds.
