NoBullIntentions

Hi,

My name is Phil Ings and I'm the Creative Director at No Bull Intentions. We're currently developing a point-and-click adventure comedy called Supreme League of Patriots. We're nearing beta release on the first episode and I'm very keen to get feedback from fans of adventure games. I first started playing around with AGS years ago, so I know what a passionate bunch you all are here. I hope you won't judge me too harshly for not using AGS. I've always been more comfortable with 3D than 2D, although it's a weakness I'm still working on.

About the Game
Supreme League of Patriots is a subversive and satirical point-and-click adventure comedy. The first of three episodes is coming to PC, Mac and Linux in the summer of 2014, and iPad shortly after.

The Setup
Meet Kyle Keever, an aspiring actor preparing to audition for the USA's hit new show, 'America's Got Superpowers'. Join him in this point-and-click adventure comedy as he attempts to win over the judges and the audience through a series of increasingly complex puzzles and challenges.

Unfortunately for Kyle, winning America's Got Superpowers and becoming a real-life superhero will take more out of him than he knows. Soon he begins to lose himself in a twisted world of vigilantes and villains that threatens to leave him violently – and violetly – unhinged...

The Team
We've had a number of freelancers (concept artists, 3d artists, animators, UI designers and voice artists) working on the project. However, at this point, most of the remaining work is mine. I wrote the script, designed the game, and project-managed the whole thing. In addition, I have been doing all of the programming. I'd like to say that this is because I couldn't afford to pay writers and programmers but it's also because I'm a bit of a control freak!

In addition, Jake Kaufman (also known as Virt) will be creating the soundtrack for the game. That's his awesome music (and effects!) on the trailer.

Progress
Episode 1 is nearing completion and we hope to begin a closed beta in the next week or so. Episodes 2 and 3 are already underway.

The Future
As well as completing Episodes 2 and 3, I'm now reaching the stage where I want to start interacting with prospective players. I know I'm going to need a lot of help to get word out about the game, get it through Steam Greenlight (it's not up yet) and to find and fix any bugs, and generally make the game the very best it can be. So I hope to get to know some of you and make sure that I deliver a game adventure fans will enjoy.

The Beta
You can now sign up for the closed beta test of Episode 1, which is due to start very shortly.

Those of you who enjoy adventure games, laughing and breaking things (always useful in a beta!) are very welcome to join. We'll only be taking a few testers to start with - to ensure that I can remain responsive to the testers we have - but I really want to make this game as robust as possible. I'm bug-phobic. Windows and Mac versions of the beta will be made available first, with the Linux version a week or so behind.

qptain Nemo

Looks and sounds fun! Also, Linux support? Good show.

I love the energy and the look of this! I get a very Sam and Max vibe.

CaptainD

A cross between Sam & Max and The Next Big Thing, perhaps?  Anyway looks great!

Really impressive-looking. I haven't got a feel yet for the actual gameplay (like, what is the player actually doing?), but really pretty and funny nevertheless!

Thanks everyone for the kind words.

Hi Daniel! (Daniel did all of the environment concepts as well as some other illustrations).

In the first episode, Kyle's main mission is to win through to the later rounds of the "America's Got Superpowers" reality tv show. The show has a series of challenges which contestants have to complete in order to prove that they have what it takes to be a first class superhero.

I've now added a beta signup page to the website where you can sign up to the first beta test, which should begin next weekend. We'll be testing on Windows and Mac only, initially, but should have a Linux beta out a week later - assuming we don't run into any major issues.

Just wanted to let you know that I hope to be sending out the beta version to the first batch of testers tomorrow (Sunday 30th March).

The game is now also up on Steam Greenlight. Please vote to help me get the game on Steam.

WOW!

Thanks guys, you've very kind. Andail, you're absolutely right that the one thing missing up to now has been gameplay footage. I haven't done enough to show off the gameplay and the humour. I've just added a new video to the top post, but I'll post it here too to make it easier to find.

Prequel Movie(15 mins gameplay)
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Mm8nTWzlBrc

It's a prequel movie introducing the characters and the humour of the game. It's also captured live as gameplay footage to show off how the game plays. It's a standalone preview episode, so watching it won't spoil the game at all.
