Does anyone have experience in devloping a game in an online-teameffort?
Starting up one I stumble over quite some issues. What is the most effective way to share templates, do I have to centralize a palette? What is the most appropriate program? Paint? Is on any windows computer (also in our school) but is is pixel drawer.
Any sharing of experiences iswelcome.
cheers, martijn
Well... if you use 256-color mode then you're going to have some palette issues. The easiest way around them is using 16-bit colors.
Otherwise, you don't need a central palette but you have to divide colors between the room colors (which may differ per room) and the main colors (which must be the same, and are used for character animation and the interfaces). See the AGS palette menu.
Paint is probably not the most appropriate program though. There's a thread on the forum with suggestions, such as GIMP and Photoshop. Ymmv.
there was a team competition here, which was horribly unsucessful / delayed majorly (shuttit aga!) maybe those teams can give you some things NOT to do ;)

Yes. Those who are working on Foodbelly with me, are spread around the world. At least England, Sweden, Finland and USA. Maybe Greece as well. Haven't decided yet.

Well.... Why do you wanna do that? Let the boss (you?) do that! Compile the whole thing.. Voila!
Actually, you don't need a palette if you're going for a 16 bits game. Just remember to have maximum 16 000 colors in each of the backgrounds.
If you're going to pixeling, Deluxe Paint (?) might suit you. Not sure of the title though..
I'd say go for Photoshop, flash or Paint shop pro if you have the skills.
Good luck!
