Brad Bradson II: The Red Shirt Saga
--Update 14th June, 2004--
Heres a little demo which contains the title sequence (might change), and the first few rooms of the game. There isn't any real puzzles here, or plot development, not all interactions for these rooms have been done, and not all animations have been inserted into it yet and just serves as an early look of how the game's gui will be like, and a few of the game mechanics used...

--Update 11th June, 2004--
Well, heres a few screenshots of a few various things...

The title in the title sequence...

The Entreprase... the starship you are assigned to...

The GUI system I've made up, which is a right mouse click thingy to change and left to use...

A bar inside the Entreprase...

--Update 7th June, 2004--
Before my computer had died, I managed to get a fair bit of work done on the game. I have now completed the intro sequence, with a hokey Enterprise on strings to add that extra level of old Star Trek cheesiness, coupled with a lame animation of stars flying past it as it speeds off. Humour is getting piled on by the bucketloads, as almost every interaction in the game so far includes a bit of humour, some dry, some dumb, but most just insane and stupid.

I have created a few more animations which I will upload as soon as I can. The backgrounds have also been worked on and I have now created about 12 different rooms for the starship at the beginning of the game, and implemented 5 so far into the game. The starship is a cross between AGI, with the 2 pixel widths to each vertical pixel, except for some things like objects that are important so that I could get maximum detail for them.

Nothing else to talk about... so I bid farewell. :P

--------

This is the sequel to the smash hit Brad Bradson game, Key Quest where Brad has lost his keys and set out on a daring quest to find them... and get home. In this game, you are a member of the starship Entreprase, who leaves on an away mission to the planet Aurora 5, along with your captain, Jamie T Krik to discover the whereabouts of a group of ConFederale Mining Colonists...

The first game was a complete joke, but this sequel is of a more serious tone... as can be heard by these brilliant audio recordings:

Of course, no game would be complete without its star:

BRAD BRADSON!!!

And exotic locations:

ravenfusion

I like what I've seen so far... Downloading bloopers now. :D

I like the sprites as I've said before, the animations is awesome. The background is simple but effective too.

spoofer4ever

Sounds really cool! I cant wait till it comes out. How about a time phrase, when will it be done? 8)

ps. this is my first post in ages since i was on holiday :P

LordHart

Hmm... well the first was made in under an hour... though it had no story, and no gameplay... and crap graphics... and no intro, and no animations... and no credits... and crappy interactions... and ... well, lets just say, it was crap... but awesome. :D

The sequel will probably be finished by next week I suppose... or the week after that. :P

Hinders

wow!
brad bradson II :D
hehe good luck =|:D

Obi

Heck this game sounds really good! I can't wait for it to be finished. Who is that person doing the voice of kirk? He sounds excellent! I Think he should be employed for voice acting.

ArtJoe

Will the gameplay be just like roger wilco too?

LordHart

So you are asking if the gameplay is going to be based upon the old Space Quest games... well, it may be, considering that this is AGS and the default control system is the Sierra control style.  :-\

Or maybe you are referring to the Roger Wilco I've taken from the beginning of SQ5, and changed into my main character. Well, yes, I did fo that... and no, if you are accusing me of stealing anything else (apart from the way the AGI style sprites were done), then you are mistaken... so dont try to come into the thread to start any shit.

ArtJoe

I guess I'll have to wait for the finished product.  Its just that when I saw a screenshot taken directly from a game I love with another head, and sprites that look just like early Sonny Bonds in a trekkie costume, it bothered me a little. esp since no credit was given...

but good luck with your project.

Sinister

Yes... Brad Bradson

a new project... :o... ooh....

I want to see this game.

p.s

This game can not be complete without a 3 boobed she-alien!
I MEAN IT!

Barbarian

Heheh.. I get a chuckle just looking at the screen-shot of your title-screen.. The slick hair, red "Ensign Expendible" trekkie-type of shirt, the big chin with dimple, and of course, that crooked smirking grin he's got.  ;D
Looks like it might be fun from what you've shown so far.
Good luck.
     --- Big Don.
Conan: "To crush your enemies, see them driven before you, and to hear the lamentation of the women!"
Mongol General: "That is good."

Simply cause I didn't give any credit here doesn't mean there wont be any... hell, if I did that, then it'd take up most of the space since I am pretty much going to add as many different sci-fi cliches and cameo as many different sci-fi characters as possible, from Doctor Who, to Star Wars and Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy (and yes Sinister, the 3 boobed chick from Total Recall will fit in somehow... after all, it is me who is making the game :P).

I can assure you everyone will get their proper credit...

Mr Jake

To me all AGI characters look the same anyway  :-\

Nine Toes

*Sully shakes his head.

I hope this one ain't like the first one... :P

Gitter Dun!
Watch, I just killed this topic...

ArtJoe

Arthur: If I asked you where the hell we were, would I regret it?
Ford: We're safe.
Arthur: Oh good.
Ford: We're in a small galley cabin in one of the spaceships of the Vogon Constructor Fleet.
Arthur: Ah, this is obviously some strange use of the word safe that I wasn't previously aware of.

looking forward to whatever hitchhiker's you toss in.

Phemar

Hitchhikers aers teh r0xxors!

O I love HG2TG. Douglas sucks for dieing and not being able to write more sequels.

Yes, and Lorddy hart, be this a serious game? As i see now, most of your graphics are ripped, or traced over...

Johnny Odd

"A personal friend?"
"No, we psychologists don't make many personal friends."
"Ah, I see. Profesional detatchment."
"No, it's just that we don't have the nack I'm afraid."

I love HGTtG!!
There's gonna be a big budget film made soon!
;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D

... oh yeah - nice game.
If this is even half as good as the classic that was Key Quest you'll go down in history!!
I love that game!
Eagles may fly high, but badgers don't get sucked into jet engines.

LordHart

This is a serious game... the only things that have been taken is the Roger from SQ5... and then the way that the AGI sprites have been drawned... when will people fucking listen to me and stop saying that shit... for fucks sake...

I've said it in every one of my posts in this thread almost... now stop asking... >:(

Chicky
