Doctor Who: Lord of Time (Working Title) is a classic style adventure game with a simple single-click interface.  You play as the doctor's companion, but take control of the doctor at some points during the game.  The companion must solve the puzzles in the game, using the Doctor as a source of information, advice, and occasional assistance.  When playing as the Doctor you have his trusty sonic screwdriver. The game starts with a regeneration sequence revealing a new doctor, and introduces a new companion, so this story could take place at any point in the Doctor's future.

The game includes:
Flying the Tardis to different places in time and space.
Sonic Screwdriver tomfoolery.
Puzzles that require getting the right information from the Doctor, or showing an item to the Doctor so that he does something clever with it.
Jokes and humorous references to the series.
Familiar faces such as K9 and the Daleks.
Never before seen secrets about the Time War.
Heavily animated cut scenes.
Music from the series.

I started this project because I love the series.  I dislike the lack of Dr. Who adventure games, and my goal is to provide an enjoyable free gaming experience for all the Dr. Who fans out there.  If I can't play one, the next best thing is to make one of my own.

I will also be posting all the sprite maps and backgrounds that I create which you can use for your own AGS games if you like.

Note: I am pretty good at making sprites for characters and objects.  I am also pretty good at animating them.  My skills at making backgrounds is POOR.  I will do my best, but if anyone likes making backgrounds, or has some that they wish to donate to the cause, it would be much appreciated.  Because of the fluidity of the DW concept, any backgrounds are useful no matter the genre.  The game is 320x200, and the story is what will make the game fun, so the backgrounds don't have to be great, but I would like the game to look as good as possible.

Are these actually in-game screenshots?  The first looks like a cut-scene (which doesn't count towards the two required screenshots) and the second shows no cursor, gui, etc.
Thanks for the screenshot update!

The gameplay sounds interesting!

Both Screenshots are cutsceens, the first is flying in the tardis, the second is the regeneration of the new doctor.

I'll find a couple gameplay screenshots and upload them.

Nice to see more Who-related games around these parts. Your own Doctor, eh?

What sort of things are you in need of? My artistic skills are elementary at best (though I'm starting to make an effort to change that!), so drawn backgrounds are out, unfortunately, as are sprites (apart from maybe the most basic types). If there's anything else, though, I'd be interested to see what I could do.

Best of luck.

I warn you, there's somewhat of a Dr Who curse on this here forums. We see many projects, and few of them ever come to fruition.

Of course, the vast majority of that is my fault.

I do have a couple of small questions, after seeing that intro.

1.)Who is the Doctor? We have a Tennant/Eccleston Tardis, but a different Doctor who is quite definitely not Matt Smith.

2.)How on earth does the Doctor know he's ginger? He doesn't have a mirror in evidence, but instinctively seems to realise it. Although, speaking on behalf of the gingers of the world, it's about damn time.

With respect to help, I'd be happy to dig around my vast collection of Dr Who sprites and music if there's anything you're particularly lacking?

I think it's meant to be his own take on the Doctor, Cirius.
