Really nice new screen! Awesome graphics. I must admit I haven't played the demo yet. But I am going to. Hope that the rest of the project goes smoothly. Good luck! I will be anticapating the complete game!!!

Any more news?

It's hard to believe there isn't tons of DW games out there considering it's increasing popularity... I can't wait for the full version of this one!

I think "Adventure" is the one gaming genre in which we'll finally be able to have a great Doctor Who game. What's more, if Tom Baker's the Doctor then I'm more or less convinced of this.

davidnagel

Hey how's the game coming along?

Love the new screenshots and look forward to a complete episode one.

Maybe a release schedule like the new Telltale Games: Sam & Max games would be a good idea... given that they have set themselves a regular schedule and a nice groovey website ;-)

David.

Hey guys, sorry for the lack of updates recently. Christmas rush had contributed to me not doing much work on the game these last two weeks or so. Hopefully will get back into it after Christmas.

Progress wise, I recently started putting characters and puzzles into the completed environment of the second part of the game and- then I backtracked a little and re-did some of the TARDIS interior graphics - they're now a little less clunky. I did this because there will be a sort of 'bridging' sequence set in the TARDIS before the time travellers land on the new planet - one or two puzzles and a bit of exploration.  Here's a comparison between the old console room and the new one.

Anyhew, will probably throw in a proper update once the Christmas dust settles. Thenks for your continued interest in this project, everyone!

Looking real good. Let me know if you need a translator for an Italian Version of the game.

The TARDIS interiors are looking good....

Just a suggestion, not that I don't appreciate what you're doing, I've been waiting for a proper DW adventure game forever... but your character art could use some touch-up... Tom Baker looks pretty good, but Sarah Jane doesn't really look like Sarah Jane...

If I was an artist, I'd love to help you out, but alas....

As a certain notable person has said on numerous occasions... "Fantastic!" While the console room was decent before, the revised background is a definite improvement. It's wonderful to see how your project just keeps getting better and better as you go along. Keep up the good work!

This shows a load of potential! I'd like to try the demo but... could you please put it as a ZIP, or RAR? Don't think there are many ACE extractors for Linux...

Hi guys, quick update and a new screenie...this one's for the fans!

I've been bogged down in the TARDIS since Christmas. There's twice as many explorable rooms now than I originally intended. I just kept adding new locations. Some familiar ones are the wardrobe (seen above), the Cloister Room and the swimming pool. A pivotal TARDIS location will be the library, which I've nicknamed the 'Exposition Room' as it deals with much of the game's story - this will save me giving too much dialogue to my characters, one of the main criticisms of the original demo. The player will be able to pop into the library and research any aspect of the game which requires explaining - it's all optional, but players who do their homework in the library can expect an easier ride in the game.

But anyway, I'm expecting to produce a new demo sometime in the next two months. This demo will be about 1/3rd of the full game and should take the player from the start of the game up to the end of episode 2. Unfortunately you won't be able to use any saves you kept over from part one as I've changed some stuff. I'm aiming to get the new demo out by the end of March, but should know well in advance whether or not I'm going to meet that target, so watch this space for further news.

Oh, like the wardrobe room! Nice touches going on in there. And I'd love to see a new demo. Not in ACE format, though?

Cheers, Duck! Much obliged. Post the update on Outpost Gallifrey too, if possible?

Wow, your backgrounds seem to have improved immensely, can we expect to see some updated graphics in episode 1 as well, not just in the Tardis?

Will the Doctor have some absurd remarks about the costumes of both his predecessors and successors?

Ha! That looks classy! I'd be happy for you to host the game - better wait until the full game is done though - and I'll write you a new blurb for it, that one's a little out of date now. But cheers, that's looking good!

thewalrus

So, how long away do you estimate that the entire game will be completed???

I don't like to guess at the moment. All I can say is there will be another demo before the end of March. By then I'll have a much better idea of how long the game will take to finish. Sorry guys! Remember this is a one man job and I'm doing it in my spare time as a hobby!
