critical editor crash ... Help !!!

i'm having a serious problem ...  
i imported the RON GUI instead of the old one , and when i tried to open my game i got this kind of message with an exclamation mark next to it  : " a duplicate sprite folder was detected ( folder "defaults has multiple parents ) AGS has now repaired the problem "

then i get a "send error to microsoft " message , and then the editor CRASHES !!!  :o

what is happening ? what can i do ?  is all my work lost ?  

the strange thing is when i try to create a NEW game i get this message: "select the template to use with your new game " with a white space below it .

and when i try to input the name of the new folder i get this : "cant open template "

should i email chris about this problem ?

thanks for any info ... i'd hate to lose weeks worth of work

and when i try to run my game with the executable, and then i close it , i get this : " an internal error has occured .

Error: FIND GUIID: no matching GUI found : gui may have been deleted

hmm ...maybe this should be in the tech forum ... but i cant seem to be able to delete it to put it there ...

anyway the template problem is solved , i deleted stupidly the "blank game " from my folder .

but the MAIN 2 problems remain :

- i cant edit my game in any way

- and when i leave running the executable i get the "internal error" message

well i uninstalled the AGS program .

but before doing  that  i managed to back-up  All of my rooms ...  which constitute maybe 80 % of the work time ...

then i installed AGS again and loaded the rooms one by one .

but i had to do again the dialogs , the general scripting and importing all the sprites and characters ....

took me about a day to fix everything so its not as bad as i feared it would be at first
