Hi! I'm new here.  I've downloaded the software and given it a good go.  So far so good.  I like it very much, and it's getting easier to learn.  I've got an idea for a comedy game and I can figure everything out: the story, the characters, music, dialogue, etc. EXCEPT:

I'm no artist.  I cannot do the art, and I'm not sure if I really really tried, I would end up with anything even remotely acceptable.  I did some experiments with backgrounds the other day.  What I did was, take pictures I found off the internet and using photo-software, added filters to them so they looked like cartoons or paintings and then scaled down the results.  It works not bad.  I'm not worried about the backgrounds so much. I think I can do it.

It's the characters!! Is there a website that has FREE .CHA Files?  The only one I could find was the RON site which had many characters. Some of them are pretty good.  Are there any other sites? I'm looking for ordinary characters, humans male and female, basically dressed any way, as long as they look different.  Young adult sprites.

2nd question related to this.  I imported some of the .cha files he had on his site and imported them into my 'game' and they work fine, except they are twice as big as the ERGO character that comes with this software.  It seemed to be the same at 320x200 or 640x400.  This is ok, as I like the big characters, but when they 'speak' the text comes out right on their face rather than above their head.  I know I'm doing something wrong.

3rd question:  I also downloaded AGAST when I was looking into this.  I think AGS is the system for me for now, but I sure like the sprite that's included in their demo's.  I found the TGA file(s) in the folders, but I really don't know how to import them into this software.  For example, the  walking 'left' slides are all in one file.  How do I get them one by one to become sprites in AGS? Once I can figure out how to do that, I'll be able to come up with the views/loops myself.

Anywhere else where I can get free high-res sprites in this AGS format??? I like it very much!

2.  haha, ergo... inside joke here on the forums... its EGO btw.  hmm, we may need more info on this from you.
3. Printscreen on their whatever character view sheet they have (I don't know what they use). Then go to MSPaint, and Ctrl-V, and then edit them.
- Oh great, I'm stuck in colonial times, tentacles are taking over the world, and now the toilets backing up.
- No, I mean it's really STUCK. Like adventure-game stuck.
