Title: Problems with my help file
Post by: Davimee on Fri 17/06/2005 21:35:55
I am having a strange problem in the game editor.  When I try to load the help file, I get Internet Explorer's default "The page cannot be displayed.  The page you are looking for is currently unavailable. The Web site might be experiencing technical difficulties, or you may need to adjust your browser settings."  What could be causing this?  I know it has to be some settings on my computer, but I can't figure out what.  We just recently switched from using IE to Netscape for our default browser, but I wouldn't think that would be the cause.  Does anyone have any suggestions?  I've noticed this for the past several days, but I don't know exactly when it started.

Yes, I forgot to mention that I did try that, and it did not work then, either.  Is it possible for the help file to somehow have been corrupted?  If that's the case, can I download a new help file, or would I have to download the entire editor again?  I'm afraid I would lose the game I've been working on if I downloaded the editor again.  Although I'm still thinking it's a problem with a setting on my computer, but I'm not sure how to find the setting.  If I can't figure it out I will download the new version of the editor once I'm finished with my game.  (I'm running 2.61.)

First of all, why would you lose the game you are currently working on? Just save the whole game file folder, and copy it into a new place; download ags again, and then put the game file folder back inside the unzipped folder.

I would suggest re-downloading the program.
