Title: resolutions issue...
Post by: on Thu 07/10/2004 20:13:10
I have downloaded a backgrounds pack off the internet I am going to use for my game. problem is all fo the images are 320x160 and the lowest resolution AGS offers is 300x200 .... Is there anyway to fit these images into AGS properly?

go into a paint program and add black borders at the top and the bottom to make it 200 pixels tall.

By the way, this isn't really a technical question. I won't move it only because you're not registered.

I dont understand, I use ms paint. So should I expand the overall picture and move the ackground down and just put black on the top and bottom of it?

Exactly. I'm not exactly sure if AGS will do it automatically. Have you tried importing it into AGS and trying it out?

I reckon the backgrounds are for a MI style GUI...

Actually, AGS will automatically 'pad out' imported room graphics. But not masks for walkbehinds/walkables/hotspots/regions.

I agree with Ishmael's assessment. I don't work too often with LEC GUIs, so it didn't cross my mind, but yes, it could very well have been meant for a LEC style GUI (inventory and text commands all on one GUI using up about 80 pixels on the bottom row).
