Hi guys...New to this whole AGS Editor thing.
I am running the game Quest For Glory 4 1/2 in a DOS Emulator called Dosbox...Both AGS and DosBox are superior programs and I highly recommend them.
When I first ran QFG it told me to get a strange zip file which I punched into google and downloaded, then extracted to the directory...problem solved..
Now my problem is this. The game supports 3 resolutions and no matter which one I select it says Resolution not Supported. Let me type it as follows word for word.
Adventure Creator v2.21 Interpreter
Copyright (c) 1999-2000 Chris Jones
ACI version 2.21.162
486 CPU detected.
Checking sound inits.
There was a problem initializing graphics mode 640 x 400.
(Problem: 'Resolution not supported')
Try to correct the problem, or seek help from the AGS homepage.
Taking the games advice...here I am...What do you guys presume I do to fix the problem?
Yeah, I have the same problem with a number of games (on Linux though). Running it in a window or in fullscreen doesn't make a difference.
Trying to run the game with the Windows engine (http://www.adventuregamestudio.co.uk/kbview.php?id=22) gave me "INI_Lib (E154): Parse Error" if I remember correctly.
If you have Windows, does the game run at all if you start it from the DOS prompt?
Hmmm Strazer, what version of the windows engine were you using? Since the DOS version is 2.21, it would be safer to use acwin around that version.
Anyway, as far as I remember, that game always crashed for me whenever I clicked one of the GUI buttons, when I ran it in pure DOS, so I didn't play it after several tries.
QfG 4 1/2 was compiled with AGS version 2.21.162 so I tried every acwin.exe from AGS v2.21 (http://www.adventuregamestudio.co.uk/ags_221.zip) onwards.
