and i have the heart to do it.
the graphics aint great but hey, nothings perfect. not even me. lol

anyway onto my questions.

i have multiple charactor views, so that i can create a walking scene thingy. ploblem is i have done it but it never seems to change from the base (idle) view. any ideas????
i tried changing the speed of the views but it doesnt seem to help.

since you dont seem to have a lot of time to spend on the net, ill cut you some slack  ;)  for not reading the Beginners online FAQ which has a section on music and speech

as for your second question, did you assign the views correctly within the characters panel?
- Oh great, I'm stuck in colonial times, tentacles are taking over the world, and now the toilets backing up.
- No, I mean it's really STUCK. Like adventure-game stuck.

thanx for the link.

i believe i assigned them correctly what i did is loaded in the default game that comes with AGS (the one with roger)
and i flicked through his views to try and place mine in an order close to it.

could it be bcos i have only done the walking down views
by that i mean do you have to do all the views (up down left right and diagonal) for them to work.

its only a very simple animation. only his arms move.
and it sort of go's
stand
left arm up
stand
right arm up
stand
left arm up

and so on

sorry i dont make much sense

thanx

Well, if you look at the loop name, it will tell you which sprites should go in that view when you're making character sprites:

Loop 0 (down)
Loop 1 (left)
Loop 2 (right)
Loop 3 (up)

And then it gets into diagonal views which not many people use. You don't HAVE to use these loops for what they say, but when you import your character, it's best to assign these views to these loops, and then any extra view you just have to call when you want the player to use that view. I.E. if you have a view for the character picking up an item, you can just call that view when the player picks up the item. I hope this helps you. Also, just so you know, moving legs is kind of important. I'm not saying it's easy, because I'm no artist, but if you could at least find some walking sprites with moving legs, and then mimic that when making your sprites, it would look a lot better. :)
