I'll be in this, but at the moment I still want your gun....probably in a day or two I'll get something out

This was a tough shape to work with, so I ended up using a flat perspective for this one.

Its a laser derringer. The green capsule represents the ammo.

May I present you all an ancient 100% biological weapon:

the AGSonusFunestusSaurus

This was the first ever Sound Gun used in ancient times when the Neanderthal did roaming around.
Like the modern Emu, it had no real flying capabilities but it could run like hell.
When in the Neanderthal men where in war with other tribes they carried this weapon-bird to a tactical point near the enemy but out of reach of their spears.
Once the bird noticed an enemy it was able to create a terrible sonic and ultrasonic screech, hurting or killing the enemy.
Why it never attacked it's own tribe people? the "never bite the hand that's feed you" principle...
(although some people believe these bird-carriers placed some sort of better-safe-then-sorry-resin,
prepared by a secret formula, in their ears making it impossible to hear the screeches...)

It had 3 levels of screeches having 3 different effects:
  • The sonic bullets:
Injures the enemy - causing deafness which took away tactical communication possibilities
  • The sonic grenade:
Incapacitate the enemy - causing serious nerve-system damage and therefor immobility
  • The ultrasonic cannon:
Kills the enemy almost instantly - with a 100% guaranty

It also has 1 secret weapon:
  • The snot mines:
Injures the enemy very slowly but very deadly, it could shoot snot mines with an incredible hit range.
It's snot contains a certain high level form of sulfuric which slowly melts down the skin and other soft tissue leading to a very slow and painful death...
This secret weapon was very convenient when this dino-bird was suffering from a temporary soar throat after many quick attacks :D

Although this dino-bird is surrounded by mysteries, one thing is sure: I'm glad it has extinct.

    EDIT:
forgot to mention: this is not an official entry, made it just for fun (and to encourage more entries from others...  ;))

NickyNyce

This AGSonusFunestusSaurus is not extinct......She makes me dinner every night!!!!

And yes...the ultrasonic high pitch screech is deafening

Ghost

Warmonger: Damn it, Fred, you always amaze me!
Scientist: Well, you asked for the most deadly weapon of all time.
Warmonger: And you made it. Its sight along will crush my enemies!
Scientist: Ah, it was nothing. A simple rocket launcher modified to fire switchblades instead...
Other Scientist: Training the ninja penguins was hard, though.
Warmonger: Still. Sliced, exploded, and savaged by an angry bird. What a way to go!

arj0n

Very nice one Tabata.

Ghost, that dangerous angry ninja penguin looks so sweet  ;)

Tabata

Tank you Arj0n!
To be honest, my first try has been a forearm-cuff, too â€" but you were faster with a real good one  ;)

Yeah â€" that would be cool!
Tabata is already catched into that fantasy.
Maybe Arj0n will do a little game about it.  *wink, wink*  ;D

Sadly enough I can't make up an awesome title.... ;D

Darkdan, Ponch, NickyNyce (or others), me want to see your entry ;)

NickyNyce

Yes, sorry for the oh so slow entry, I've been hammering away at my game The Visitor, almost done with the last couple BG's....I'm off work tomorrow, I'm not gonna miss this.

You guys have certainly not made it any easier getting an entry out, good stuff everyone!!!

well, that IS a perfect excuse Nicky   8)
Looking nice b.t.w., the style is sort of comparable to 'Jimmy the Troublemaker', nice.
off-topic: so how's the progress going with your game?

You promised us an entry so you're not allowed to miss this anyway  ;)

now I'm getting even more curious to see your astonishing entry :)

NickyNyce

On topic: Astonishing...Ha....Do not get your hopes up, I have fiddled with this shape for over two hours when it first came out and I'm still scratching my head how well everyone has done. I don't want to late post and make something similar to what's out there.....even tougher now...Arrrrgg

Off topic: The game is coming along nicely and should be finished in a month....I hope. I keep finding ways to improve it and extend it....which is not helping my spare time. I am my own worst enemy for sure. For a first game, I went a bit overboard, but it's helped me develop and learn even more. I will update the thread soon.

Funny you said that about Jimmy the Troublemaker, I have noticed a similarity, he's doing a great job over there, I love those backgrounds.

Intense Degree

x2

Features:

* Whilst viewed as pointless by many it is able to destroy most games within a few minutes!
* Massive effort to damaged caused ratio when used in combat!
* Do not use without wrist strap (now you can't sue us!)
* Can be used with nunchuck but really, what's the point?

arj0n

#22
Ha, nice one I.D.  :)

Edit:
Cools, I've managed to destroy 'Colin Simpson Leaves Employment' in 1 minute!!.
*sorry*  :=

Intense Degree

Ha! Easy when you know how. ;)

And that game is definitely worth one minute of anybody's time! ;D

Funny thing, the game 'Batman Returns' (DOS, 1992) also contains a loyal army of missle-packing Penguin Commandos lead by Oswald Cobblepot, known as The Penguin.
Although they're not ninja penguins...  :D

1 day left before the deadline. Any more entries?
And NickyNyce...  ...where's yours? You promised...  :'(

NickyNyce

I have now spent 3 hours drawing and erasing....the agony....I will try again...Promise ;)

If for some reason Jasonleeholm doesn't come up with trophies, I have made some cool skull trophies for the winners if necessary. But I would would imagine he will come through. ::)

I've got another one, the ultimate killer:

the galaxy!

The terrible destructive power of this weapon boasts the following:
magnetar blasts
hyper-velocity stars
rogue black holes
et cetera.

I present to you, the Skull Cracker, this gun was found on the battle field of Omega 1

Fear no one in battle when you carry the Skull Cracker, known to make enemys flee at the mere sight of it

This gun contains an enormous blast of pure plasma that incinerates anything in it's path, known to make the human skull emit a sickening cracking sound when it explodes. The large melee blade at the top still has blood on it from the battle of Omega 1. Fully automatic with 3 cooling cylinders for the most intense fire fights. Adjustable blast width helps with accuracy while the recoil accelerators stabilize the gun.

Sorry so late everyone, I pulled this one out of a hat........last ditch effort....

arj0n

Funny one Darius Poyer  :D

Well, you pulled out a very nice one Nicky.
Is that skull on the gun a hunting troffee?  ;D

Wonkyth

Hehe, Darius's one makes me think Tengen Toppa.  :P
Also: loving the detail on NickyNyce's Skull Cracker.

Something like that, decoration or trophy...I'm not sure, I found it on the battlefield of Omega 1.
Thanks for the push Arj0n, I almost gave up  :-[

Trophies are up -- let me know if they are too big and I can shorten them.

NickyNyce

They look great but I think they are a little too big, I believe there is a height restriction, 50 pixels high.

Also .... when are you going to start the voting ?

When you do, place in the Subject heading after weapon of choice ( Vote Now ..Ends the 17th or 18th...whatever you wish )

It's often around 30x40 so between that and max 50x50 would indeed be a good size.

Intense Degree

My vote goes to Tabata.

Good looking weapon with four lasers and duct tape? IN! ;D

Wait!
My second one wasn't an 'official' entry, it posted it just for fun and for encouraging others to create one and post it.
I thought your second one wasn't 'official' either?

jasonleeholm

Not sure if I get to vote or not, but I'm going with Poyer for this one. Slick, clean design.

Tabata

As I remember it, you have to choose, which of your entries should count for the votings, if the host didn't give it in the hands of the participants to post several sprites (to get more chances for votings).

My vote goes to Nicky's hat â€" ahem â€" his „Skull Cracker“ of course ;)

@ Nicky:
I am already on my way to Diagon Alley, London, for a preorder to the next series...
â€" btw. Is it in the back room of Ollivanders or the Weasley's shop at No 93 or somewhere else?

NickyNyce

I found the hat at the magic shop in Atlantic city, the tropicana casino and resort. Let's just say it was the only thing I left the casino with  :(

This was tough, but my vote goes to       Tabata

Ghost

I shall purchase NickNyce's weapon, and thus I also vote for it.

I didn't remember your second entry not being a real entry, sorry about that. I don't know how I consider my galaxy entry. I'd like it to be a real one but I don't think it does too good with the theme overall, but it fits in an awkward way.

I forgot to vote as well so mine goes to NickyNyce.

Well if the voting is finished, it's:

1st Place with 3 votes: NickyNice
2nd Place with 2 votes: Tabata
3rd Place with 1 vote: Darius Poyer

Everyone can thank Arj0n for me winning.. ;)

Thanks for the votes, I think everyone nailed it in their own right, it was a good shape...I'll come up with something after work, Thanks again...this is fun.   :D

(or Arj0n simply didn't like to be my favorite  :-X)

Congratulation to our magician Nicky for winning and also to all of the participants for their cool entries, that made the contest very entertaining!

It was really fun and getting votes for my entry was a wonderful experience â€" Thank you!

Hope to C U all coming up with new entries again during the next 14 days!?
