Best Character: Baron - just a great description of a historical figure

Best Hook: I<3Pindorama! - Pindorama actually managed to write a character that has an inept ad and that I might be interested in dating. This character shows such self-critical and safe-aware humour that he is kind of intruiging. (Of course, for it to stop being an inept ad and to really sell the deal, some kind of actual description of him/her-self would be necessary. But that was not asked here, obviously)
Best Social Commentary: Sane Co.
Best Overall: Ponch - creepy, creepy as hell. It would be even better if it were subtler and the reader wouldn't pick up on the real intentions of this creep right from the "seeking" line.

@Giraffadon: I think it would be better if you posted your votes in a seperate post like everyone else and not as an edit to your entry. It's just too easy to overlook like that.

That's it, we're done! Actually we were already done, since Giraffadon secretly hid his votes in his story post, but that's beside the point. I'm glad we got so many entries this time around, especially since we were up against the 55-word stories this month, and I'm very happy with the prompt voter turnout.

RESULTS

Sane Co. with 9 votes!
Sinitrena with 8 votes (or seven if you don't count Myinah's "close second" mention, but there were other instances of double votes so I counted it)
I<3Pindorama! with 7 votes (I didn't count the Stoat.... )

Ponch and Baron with 5 votes (we also voted the exact same way as well. How ....suspicious.

kconan with 4 votes (and an entry that I guess only people who've walked with the bumpkins could appreciate.

I'd distribute trophies but to be perfectly honest I forgot to pester Sinitrena to make her half, and then I forgot to do it myself. If you are in the top three and really want some hardware to show off then just say so in the thread and I'll get right on that for you. Congratulations to all the winners, but especial congrats to Mr. Sane Co., who now must shoulder the sacred burden of starting a new topic for the next fortnight. I resent the implication that you are my be-monocled sock puppet account, Baron. Sure, we've never been seen in the same room at the same time, but neither have Bruce Wayne and Batman and that proves nothing! If anything, I'm your crime-fighting alter ego.

Congrats to all the winners. I'm also quite pleased that I tied with ~~myself~~ Baron for fourth place. Looking forward to SaneCo's theme!

I believe that without this contest I would not have thought and fun a lot about these aspects ... the "format" also encouraged me to participate. For a long time I wanted to join in this contest, but always felt intimidated by my linguistic limitations ... now I see that all this time I missed the opportunity to explore it in my flavor. lol
