What is a Photoshop Saturday?

Photoshopping isn't drawing a completely new image -- It's editing images to create a new image, such as editing one image or combining several images. The contest usually lasts for a fortnight. Also, you don't have to specifically use Photoshop -- Paint Shop Pro, MSPaint, or any other programs can be used, even Mario Paint.

Your task is to design from scratch of one of the Major Arcana Tarot cards, abiding by the above rules.

Great idea! I will have difficulty choosing the card i wish to illustrate so is it ok to give more then one entry?

esper

There is minor nudity on some of the cards... Is it acceptable to play off of that, or would you prefer to keep it G-rated?

Regarding number of entries:
You may submit as many you want, but choose one of those before the deadline as your official competition entry.

Regarding nudity: You are free to portray whatever you wish on the card, if it is not-work-safe/G-rated, post the image link rather than displaying the picture straight in this topic.

WAIT A MINUTE!

You said "DESIGN FROM SCRATCH!!!"

Crap! I just Photoshopped two from the actual major arcana...

But... isn't this a photoshop contest? Where you have to EDIT already existing pictures???

Edit vs. Design from scratch: Yes, I see the issue.

What if I re-word it to: Redesign using only source images that do not yet appear in existing tarot cards?
Or should I come up with a new theme? (Does this stray too far from the spirit of photoshop phriday?)

Aha. I understand now. I really, REALLY liked my old ones, but I'll make a new one like Twirlly did. This spot reserved...

EDIT: Here it is...

Here is my entry: Strength

It is still Photoshopping your just editing more than one photo and piecing them together in this case instead of just fooling around with one given photo.
Winner Winner Chicken Dinner!

Esper - your "Lemmings" card was a photoshop, and it was a good one! Please bring it back. :) Also, with the number and the caption the way they were it felt more like a tarot card.
Reach for the moon. Even if you miss, you'll land among the stars.

Kneel. Now.

Never throw chicken at a Leprechaun.

Okay, fine. For Rui, here's the Lemmings card, but I don't think it follows the rules of this competition, so I'll still have to stick with the other one as my official entry.

Why do I bow to your will?

EDIT: For those who don't know, without the addition of all the additional "lemmings" this is the card I composited above.

Yikes... this will be hard to do.

EDIT: Here's mine:

It's The Emperor.

(And sorry about the size.)

Used 6 images for the death card and 4 images for the judgement card.
Finally got around to throwing some stuff together tonight, I might make more if i get bored this weekend.Ã,  Tell me which one you like best.

Death is really cool, but wasn't he supposed to be riding on a horse, or other animal? Still really cool though. Just want to know, is the skull head from the logo of Baulder's Gate?

You do not have to include the specific symbols present in the Rider-Waite deck, look at these two versions of the Death card for example.

The things that should be present are the number and name.
Otherwise, just read about the cards and "photoshop" images to create your own interpretation.
Check this site out for alternate illustrations (wikipedia is somewhat scarce):

also, perhaps a better one:

Haha, the jugdement one looks like Shelley Duvall! *Points and laughs at postmodern_boy*
I'm composing the music for this game:

I don't know who Shelley Duvall is, so it might be her and I wouldn't even know.Ã,  Found the image with a random google image search and it seemed to fit the composition I had in mind once i gave her wings and a sword.

The skull is from a plastic skeleton for medical students that I also found with a google image search.

so I'm guessing everyone likes the death card better of the two then......

Not competing, but I did make something YEARS ago that is oddly appropriate:

biothlebop

Right, closing this now.
And the winner is: ZAPPER, who came closest to creating what I had envisioned the entries like.

A honorary mention goes to esper for his interpretation of a probably better/funnier topic (entirely new tarot cards). I thank all participants, hope you had fun.
