Sorry! I don't know how to draw a sheep from my memory so I had to use a reference.

Unfortunately, this is an old sprite that I did a few months ago for the RoN forums, but I thought I'd put it up for inspiration.
Not an official entry.

Nice stuff kids. But we need more if we want to create a formidable flock.

Yes I did just say formidable flock.

  p.s.  Stajp's reference =  now my wallpaper!

No offense JBurger, but your entry looks very much like a quick paintover. I'm not trying to accuse you and if you say you didn't then that will be that. Just my opinion.

No, it's not a paintover, but I tried to match the original as closely as possible. If you match the two up I think you should be able to spot some differences, most notably with the back legs and the ears.

The face seems to be on a slightly different angle, and the way the light shows through the wool seems slightly different.

I think I've seen enough of TheJBurger's stuff to believe this is his work, but damn, it be very close to the original.

Also, if he cheated he didn't need to link to the reference picture in the first place.

Anyway, cheated or not, I'm sure the host would be good enough to judge whether an entry meets the requirements, and if not, it just doesn't win anything.

So, monkey, stop complaining and try to make an entry. Still 1 day left!

I'd like to enter, but too bad I probably won't be able to squeeze out the time.

A sheep in few geometric shapes: 5$
A sheep done so good everybody thinks it's a paintover: 100$
Sheep in snow: priceless! :)

The best part is, if you look closely long enough, you can really see the sheep (or it's time to make an appointment to my eye doctor).

Better call the doctor already. Although If you're seeing things, laying off the alcohol might help. ;)

Also layabout - I am half welsh and you are half right :P

I will judge this tomorrow just incase there are any late entries (its late on the 17th in oz right now)
They're all awesome - keep em coming.

Been a while, but here's a late entry:

And the carefully copied reference: link (http://marcus.krupa.se/AGS/sj_080117_ref.jpg)

Hope you don't mind the canvas.

(The reason it isn't coloured is that it's supposed to be grey, which would turn into whatever colour the surrounding would suggest, so instead of colouring it a boring actual grey which it would have only under extremely rare circumstances, I kept the canvas colour, which one could interpret as how it would look if it was in a reddish room, with a warm keylight n a cooler ambient light.

(The shading used is a version of cel shading, where a feather effect has been applied to all non drop shadow areas, to give a smoother look. It's only slightly more cumbersome than normal cel shading, so it's not a difficult style to animate, and has been used in many disney productions.)

Sheep, I like sheep: white sheep grey sheep . . um. . .
Anyway- what a stupid Jam, thanks to everyone that entered- all the entries are great and I will now painstakingly proceed to tell you how each one is great on an individual basis(but backwards!!):

Loominus - You didn't win as it is technically not a sprite. But if this was a competition for coolest sheep ever you may have one. Also you draw better than me and I hate that - we are now mortal enimies !

Tube & Gilbot 7V000a - those technically are not entries but you do make perfectly good sheep. So you get a scratch and sniff sticker that smells like strawberries.

Cameron - You get third place as the idea is cool - although you cant tell what it is appart from the hoofs so it could be a goat or an albino satan.

Evil guy - Burps are cool -keep em coming.

Indie Boy - Nice wooly beetle.

Cat - sorry - its  too good - that goes a against you. Draw worse next time.

Space boy - Second place - it's tiny and sheep - two of my favorite things.
I copied this gif and blew it up on my 'puter and it is a really great tiny sprite. Great work.

Cino - You wierdo ! You win - its cool.

Stajp - Worlds greatest reference - nice.

The J Burger - um - okay da vinci - the lourves over there man.

Yarooze - I was tempted to place this one - Its really quite good

Inkoddi - thanks for starting this one off with a bang -You get a belated fourth place.

Trophies is Space boys sprite painted Silver Gold and Bronze if you can be bothered. And cudos to everyone that mentioned reference but didn't really use it.

Okay I'm totally over sheep now.

Cheers.

Well that was quite unexpected considering the quality of the jam this time. There hasn't been one with this much entries in a long time, so thanks for inspiring us Mr_Frisby. And great job everyone! I'll start the next one later today.
