Congrats on making your first game!  ;D

Will take a look at this later.  I like the graphical style you've used.

Excellent little game! I thought the art was really good, and the writing really drove the story well. It seemed to want to be a little darker than it was, the allusions to the illness she might have for instance, but then didn't quite cross the edge. Also, it really could have benefited from some sound to set the mood.

Good job!

That was one good game. Story was good, art was nice and a twist ending  :P
Impressive for your first game, keep it up.

Very fun game. I like the concept and the way it ties up the start with the end.

I agree that sound and the right music could make it much more atmospheric.

Lovely little game! The dialogues were well-written and the characters were quite amusing. I also really enjoyed the part when she talks to her fears, nice timing and atmosphere! But this very part could gain even more atmosphere if you added some music.

Apart from that, the puzzles were a bit linear and I often found myself just doing all the possible interactions until I'd stumbled upon the right one. Having said that, I still really liked some of them.

And the game ended before I really got used to the GUI. I think it would be better if it appeared next to your cursor when you hold the right button so the player doesn't need to hover it right to the middle of the screen every time they want to do something. But that's merely a suggestion for your further games.

I actually finally got off my butt and did a let's play/review that includes this and another AGS game, "The Wife Who Wasn't There" if you'd like to see it. It's here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=f773c6NE0D8

(I apologize for my long intro. :P)

Wow, thank you all, I'm so flattered... I wouldn't have thought that the response would be so well. I am glad you played and liked it!

Your criticisms are all valid - sound would help, but I'm no good with music or sound generation, and I wanted the game to be 100% by me for the contest.

The GUI - yes, I thought about having it pop up under the cursor, but when the mouse cursor would be near the edge of the screen, part of it would not have been visible. But maybe it would have been better anyway.

@Saluk: I wanted it to be child-grade-creepy without becoming either too comical or too horror-driven. It was hard because I had to discard a lot of funny ideas that would have been too light-hearted for the theme.

@Cuiki: Brute force IS a solution for games that short because of limited possibilities  ;) I agree that roughly in the middle, a short notice that something became possible would have helped, because it isn't quite obvious.

@Domithan: I wrote a comment to your video  :) Funny you asked for a "second edition" with sound, because I have been thinking just that and more. Wow, it was so strange watching a video about something I made...

Hahah. It was a fun video to make. I'm actually really new to editing videos and such (as I'm sure was obvious) but it was a good time in the making. Even if it's not something that fetches a lot of views, I think it's good to get these games out there. I'll be sure to add their links to the description, too. I'll definitely have to do more of those with higher quality and a bit more of a personal commentary, maybe a play through rather than a few words.

Well I'm curious what it was you wanted to tell me directly and that got lost from the video  ::)  Until I read your note that there was supposed to be something I thought you were using silence to show me how much is missing from the game  ;D

See, that would have been clever. But, no, it was really a clip of me personally. I directly uploaded this from Sony Vegas, and the clip is in there. Not sure why it didn't show up.

nice graphics, but the charakter walking speed is too lame in my opinion, though well done

It doesn't really need to pop up at exactly the same spot (in relation to a cursor) every time. It could appear above it, for example, when the cursor is below a certain line. But I guess that's a lot of extra coding and it's a bit redundant for a MAGS game. It's not such a big deal, anyway. :)

By the way, cool reviews, Domithan!

Thanks! I'm actually already getting clips scraped together to do something fun with Tales of Otubania, I loved that game. In the meantime, I'm working on my editing...'skills'. :P

Back on topic, I'm excited to see any extended version of this as well as 'Bus Stop'.

Don't hold your breath, Bus Stop won't be around for quite some time  ::) It's got much more than seen in the preview screenshots by now, but there's still a long way to go.

I enjoyed this game, the story kept me going on till the end.
The dialogs were really nicely done (especially with fear).
Been said, but music & sound would have added a lot.
I also agree about the walking speed, needs to be faster.
Also, the fly really annoyed me, should have made him move slower so it would be easier to interact with it.

I'm not surprised that Domithan likes this game (also, cool review, Domithan, watched them both), it kinda reminded me of his games, only his are more creepy...

If you like the game: Voting for December MAGS is still in progress, and it's close, it seems... if you are not an OSD fanboy, go there and vote ;)

I kinda like how fast the fly is, but I think I will slow it down while the mouse cursor is near it - that should help while still giving that "busy" impression.

The walking speed will be increased for the second release :) I agree that it is too slow if you don't know what you are supposed to do and keep walking here and there.
