Title: A few little midi ditties
Post by: on Wed 26/11/2003 23:17:04
Dittys? Ditties? Ah to hell with the spelling, theres no words in MIDI music anyway!

I'd be interested for comments and/or criticism towards these midi files.

First of all, a tune from Bad Timing;
http://screen7.adventuredevelopers.com/fun/btiming.mid

It's supposed to convey a kind of lonely-ish, quiet house place but with a DOTT feel to it. So, yes, fairly comic. Whatcha think?

Secondly, a tune from By The Sword;
http://screen7.adventuredevelopers.com/fun/bts.mid

I think it's going to be for end credits - reckon it'd suit? Please note it's not finished! Thats why it kind of ends quite abruptly.

Finally, a tune from Perils Of Poom;

Okay, it's for a space-ship salesman place. Forget the space-ship bit though. Just think salesman. Can you really portray a salesperson through music tho? :p

Ta!

Bad Timing - I totally dig this one.  Subtle and won't get on your nerves in the background (as long as volume is low enough!)  About 1/2 way through it the volume got insanely loud.  That might have been my computer though ... it's been known to do wierd things like that!

By The Sword - I like this a lot too!  I think it'll fit for credits, but also if there was a final cut scene with some climax of the game.  It's pump music!

Perils of Poom - This one was my least favorite but still enjoyable.  It definately puts me in mind of a sales person!  It also has a carribean sound to it.

I like them all!

I'm blown away by people who can make music.  I have the musical ability of a fish.

Did you compose the soundtrack to Finding Nemo?

:p Thanks for your comments Darth, I'll see if I can find out about that volumatic thing!

Bad Timing: Very catchy.  It sounds sort of like "creeping around with a flashlight" music.

By The Sword: I agree with Darth. Definitly pump music.  But about 20 seconds where it goes to just the flute or whatever, it seems to just be dead.  It needs another instrument- either counterpoint or a continuation of the drums.

Perils of Poom: Why am I reminded of Stan? It sounds like the salesman is a bit of a hustler.

Darth: Appologies in advance.  If you have the musical ability of a fish, AT LEAST YOU CAN DO SCALES!!!

Dragonrose - You actually had me laughing with that one!

m0ds - I laughed at your joke too!

I had a program once called MIDI Studio (I think) and I used to just throw stuff together.  I was persistant but never managed to make anything worth while.

** darth mandarb bows (humbly) to those with musical talent **

Does this project have a website? (I've never heard of it before, and now I'm interested ;P)

Hey m0ds! How about set up the theme for Hawaiian Treasure once again? I can't download it because the site doesn't exist anymore. I have told you again and again but you're ignoring me! Why do you do this to me? What have I done against you? You could at least replied. Now, please, don't ignore me again, I'm trying to be honest. Come on, pal!
