Here's a little scene I drew up for my game. It is kinda finished, but I'm seriously unimpressed with the water.

Later dudes.

I think you need to differentiate the browns from each other to make you scene clearer. As it is, two of the tree trunks, the dirt, the shore, and the bridge all look very similar in color.

I think you should make the sand golden and the water more blue than purple.

I like the scene, looks good. Some crits:

-3 different types of trees all cluttered up? Hmmm...
-The texture on the white tree looks kinda off (Though I see which treetype it is.)
-The grass could use more detail.
-The water should be a lighter blue. Maybe some white for the waves.
-For a beach the sand should be lighter, unless it's some creek-type thingy

Babar

Nice scene! The water looks ok, (even if it is a little purple). It would probably be more impressive once animated.
The only thing that looks strange are the two trees in the left corner. Because their textures are so alike, the one in front looks a little flat. You should add some shading, like you did the brown ones next to it.

Squinky? Is that you? :=
I don't know about that shading technique. It works for Squinky because it's his style, but I wouldn't want to see every game done that way.

The whole scene is tilted to the left.
Everything looks very cut off - I'd like to see more of the hut, the trees, etc.

The white trees look very flat. Perhaps curve the bark around the trunk a bit more, and add a shaded side.
The bridge planks look too regular compared to the hut.

This sounds very negative. Sorry. I do like it.

It's not the size of the dog in the fight. It's the size of the fight in the dog.

I agree... It's very Squinkyesque. But good!

Sam.

it looks very pirate fry-esq. I dislike th tree on the far left, it loks out of place and the shading and texturising doesn't work.

EDIT:oops, didn't see teh [osts about squinkyish style. sorry for being repetative then.
Bye bye thankyou I love you.

Thanks for the crits - I'll take the Squinky thing as a compliment.

I'm working on an update, will be ready in a while.
