Title: Animation Tutorial: Rotoscoping Walk Cycles
Post by: Grundislav on Fri 03/02/2017 22:39:53
Hello!

I wrote a little tutorial on my blog (http://agwspeakeasy.blogspot.com/2017/02/updated-rotoscoping-tutorial-walk-cycles.html) giving some quick pointers on how to animate walk cycles by rotoscoping them. It's an update to some tutorials I did a few years ago which can also be found on there.

Hope it's of some use!

Nice tutorial. I noticed you are wearing similar clothing as the character. Do you feel like this is essential to getting good results?

Thanks for the infomative and entertaining tutorial...

The end resulting sprites are amazing and I want to try your method out at some point if I ever actually make a game with a traditional main character sprite...

It certainly helps, especially if the character is wearing a coat or something that will react to movement. It doesn't always have to be the same color, though.
