Hey this is a guy I made in Illustrator loosely based on a tut I found on the Macromedia site.Ã, I plan on importing it into After Effects and making animations that I could export individual frames for a game.Ã, What do you all think?
Update: This is the updated version.Ã, I flopped the hand around and added some small details.Ã, The background is the style I'm going to try and stick with.Ã, Any crits?

Nice, but hisw hand is pointing in an impossible direction. It should be the other way.

It's not impossible, he's just got his palms up.
I like it, reminds me of one of my friends ;)
I like it, the style looks al lot like the one scummy was aiming for:

Same tutorial maybe? :)
the very same. ive got another character in the works. chris (the creator of that tut) has become a good internet friend of mine. we talk about animating for tv and such with flash. hes a really smart guy and really cares for "newcomers" to flash. Not that I'm a newcomer, but you know what I mean.
I've already fixed the hands. I'm at work and I'll post a new version when I get home later. I really liked that tutorial. I basically just used the style and ran with it.
Scummbuddy - Did you do your picture in Flash or Freehand/Illustrator? I was using Illustrator because I've been using it for a few years now. Have you tried animating your character yet?
I use Flash myself. As for animating the girl image, I've been particularly busy recently, but am eager to animate it, as soon as my school projects are out of the way.
check out www.mudbubble.com and www.keyframer.com for chris's own pages. (if you didn't already know from the breeze preview)
So I updated the top and was wondering if the background style would be good for an AGS style game?Ã, I know using just shadows for backgrounds may get difficult but what do you all say?Ã, Would this style make for a nice game on both backgrounds and characters?
Nice BG, like the clouds! Not so hot on the ground, though, sorry.
Is this a nice style for an AGS game? Possibly. Depends on how you're planning to draw the foreground. This image's background would make a nice backdrop (especially if you could animate the clouds) but what about where the action takes place? How would a room look? Etc.
*Bump*
wow nice update, are you going to use these on a game?
i love this scene
