I'm toying around with an idea for a game I might make after I've finished with the one I'm working on now, and the other day I drew the possible main character and a background for 320x200 resolution. Would you folks want to play a game with these graphics? C&C please

Oh, and this is my first time posting pictures on the forum so I fully expect it not to work. We can only hope it does :P

they look pretty good.  i'm sure most people on these forums would be perfectly fine playing a game like this.  if you've noticed, a lot of people here are really into the lo-res look.

from these pictures, it looks like you know what you're doing, so keep up the good work.  looking forward to seeing some more work from you in the future.

BTW...if you want the pictures to show up in the forums without having to click on them, just add an [ img ] to the beginning and [ /img] to the end (without those spaces).

like so...
this code: [ img ] http://www.2dadventure.com/ags/c.gif [ /img ]
(again, without spaces)

would yield this:

I quite like the expression of the guy ...
You did a good job on him, especially considering the use of lores...

I don't know if that's your purpose, but with an appropriate walking animation it could have a very funny mood...

(I'm thinking of the Satan game, which was pretty small, but that character was just hilariously perfect!)

Synthetique

the window is kinda small and out of place.. the rest rox

Thanks. I was thinking the same thing about that window. I'll make it bigger. Also, anyone got any shading advice? The shadows in the background to me seems pretty... uh... off... and i'm not exactly sure why.

I´ve noticed that the graphics are very into Pleughburgh style, the best AGS game in many people´s opinion. What I mean is that sometimes you don´t need to make a game with sper-mega-ultra-astonishing graphics... Playability is allways the most important. So... keep on the good work.
Are you guys ready? Let' s roll!

It's not the size of the dog in the fight. It's the size of the fight in the dog.

Your room is looking okay for a start but I would adjust a few things before adding more to the room. Moving the bed and the night stand back would look better and lowering the closet door knobs should help. I adjusted these things here:

Keep up the good work,

n3tgraph

the little table is in wrong perspective...
and watch out for those mean double pixels

other than that, great work, keep it up
* N3TGraph airguitars!

Squinky

Yep, that dude is definately CJ. I'd add something interesting to the room and play with the perspective....good stuff though...

Neole

I love the artwork, it reminds me of 'Just Another PnC Adventure" which was great.

AGA

http://www.agagames.com/pics/simon3dcj.jpg - this is a character from Simon the Sorcerer 3D. Looks a like CJ, and that guy, too.

Rincewind

Nice work! I love Lo-res stuff, and this is no exeception.
I think all I can complain about is the bedside table, which needs a slight correction. Otherwise - Great art.

Nostrum

Hm...
What should I do to the bedside table exactly?

Also, to the guy who said my art looks like Pleurghburg, a few weeks ago I actually did some lores Pleurghburg fan-art...

Scummbuddy

Using the same vanishing point as you do with your walls, windows, bed posts and everything, point the sides towards that same point.
- Oh great, I'm stuck in colonial times, tentacles are taking over the world, and now the toilets backing up.
- No, I mean it's really STUCK. Like adventure-game stuck.
