Title: Do you like these songs?
Post by: Migs on Wed 01/10/2003 22:49:14
Although I'm hesitant to share any music from my game before it's complete, I'm writing two songs in particular that need some work.  One is a battle theme, and the other is a war theme.

The battle theme IMO is pretty good (even though it's not complete...I usually finish the songs I care about by enhancing them with a synthesizer to give them a professional quality), but it's too short...it needs more, and I have some ideas on what to add.  I actually might scrap this battle theme entirely, because I'm not convinced it fits with the mood of the game, but I'd like to hear some comments and suggestions first.  What can I do to make it better?

And here's a rough sketch of the first segment of the war theme I'm working on.  I have some other pieces of it (which I'm not going to share yet), but I'm not sure it sounds very good.  I know some of the chords don't work well, plus that high note is really annoying, but I'll fix these later.  Most importantly, what should I do after this little segment?  What should the song move to?  Should I keep the same basic rhythm for awhile, for the whole song, or come up with some sort of transition?  Just throw out some ideas, please.

You might have to "Save Target As" to hear these songs.  Don't hesitate to turn your speakers up!

Awesome man, sounds like an RPG theme.
