This is my first try at making my lead character. She's going to get stuck in a place in called Horror Land, based on the Goosebumps book by the same name. I had trouble with the boots, and suggestions on anything else would be helpful.

Galen

Make them move towards the view, hence bigger, and outwards and down a bit, that should give them the depth they need.

Oliwerko

Make them longer, and pointing outwards, use more colors if necessary, give them a shiny "strip".

Ghost

With a skirt it's always hard to tell, but you may want to give the legsabit more shape too- now they are straight "rectangles" and seem to end in very small, almost pointy feet. It's a matter of style though...

Here, some crude "ASCII Art" guide  ;) :

/ \
| | Upper Leg
\ /
O  Knee
/ \
| |  Lower Leg
\ /
O  Ankle
/ \
--- Foot

oliver's right about the additonal colours; that's the best way to add some outline and shape to a low-res sprite. A reflection on a black boot would be dark blue...

Apart from that, nice idea to make a Goosebumps game! I remember reading some of the book back then; I'm already curious how it'l turn out!

Please use a PNG image and not JPEG. It just adds all these unnecissary pixels and makes it difficult for people to do paintovers if they so wish to.

The boots are fine. Her hands look like she saw something and got petrified.
And her shoulders are a little too up as well.
Worked on Strangeland, Primordia, Hob's Barrow, The Cat Lady, Mage's Initiation, Until I Have You, Downfall, Hunie Pop, and every game in the Wadjet Eye Games catalogue (porting)
