Title: I REALLY need help with the walking frames of this character
Post by: Jimi on Fri 23/05/2003 11:11:49
I've been working on this character for a very long time, but I still can't seem to get the frames of him walking right. No matter how hard I try, his legs either look too short, or he just looks completely strange. Anyway, here are the 2 frames I have done...

I have the first, and second frames (above), but  the rest seem to look strange.

If anyone could help it would be great! Because this is the main character, and its really getting quite annoying.

Thanks in advance,

Jimi

You should try drawing the two extreme frames (left foot furthest forward and right foot furthest forward), then inbetween them.

If your software allows it, cut and paste the arm and legs on separate layers. then keep rotating and moving them on the body for the different frames (and move the body up and down). That makes it more easier. I had written a tutorial on this a couple years back but have lost it :(

You've probably read Eric's tutorial but if you haven't here it is:

I was using 2ma2's tutorial. I had actually done one of the extreme frames yesterday, but something went wrong when I was rotating something, and I lost an hours work  :(.

Neole: I'm using Paind Shop Pro 5. I can use layers, but when I save it, and reload it, it is all merged into one layer.

Save the temporary files into *.psp format in order not to merge the layers.
