*Notice:the game is going to get rated by esrb when it is finished so once i am do i will send it in and wait.

how does it look because there is supposed to be 2 img's one for the basic game(for AGS & amazon) & one with the full net server and all 4 chapters witch will come out next year or 2012.that game will only be for amazon as it will not be free.

GarageGothic

Wait, weren't Square Enix going to publish this - shouldn't their logo also be on the cover? Or are they only involved with the net server/4 chapter deal?

Chicky

Icey made the wise decision to do it alone. That's a good cover, I suggest making the text more visible.

Thanks, the reason it looks well hard to see is because facebook converted it into a jpg.

"I didn't lwave square enix out of it I just took moogles and chocobos out....and cid out of the game but there a 2 breeds of animals in my game that mirrior them in there own way.But if square enix does happend to reply to me then it wouldn't be that hard putting them back in the game as all I have to do is replace the old view with a new one.

No, the reason it looks "well hard" to read is that you chose a poorly readable font.

Icey

Oh,to me when I was editing it it looked clearer but if you think so I will redo the text so that it is clear and it should do good with black text and blue faded background so that you will see and I will make a plain tan case with black text for the gold hit's(ultimate hit's) copy for the paid version.

No (printing) company would accept such small image for box art. JPG format is also a no-no.
And RGB colors too, unless you're going to print them with color printer.
To do it right, find out DVD cover size (130.5x189x12mm) and make art accordingly. Using vectors is also a plus.

So your first step starts here:
Google search for "DVD cover template"

Best you can do to criticize your own image and find mistakes is to find an empty DVD case, crap the image out of some color printer, join two and take a long & serious look at it.

All said.

Layabout

Lets put it this way. I know this image is the largest you produced as I can see where you have used pixel outlines. There is no anti-aliasing, which pretty much confirms this.

Your image is 227 x 278 pixels.
A full wraparound DVD insert is about 3220x2180 pixels. I should know, I have made on in the past.

Your typography is mostly taken from King's Quest and it seems little thought has been put into this.

Your composition needs work. It's a little unbalanced and plain. Where are the characters. What about a more exciting pose for the main character.

Ditch the esrb thing. You only will need that if you are selling it in a retail outlet.

If you are selling it, hire a graphic designer or a good artist.

If you can't afford a good artist, stay freeware.

Very few artists will work for royalties, and if they do, they won't be good workers.

A little cash goes a long way.

If you are going to sell this game, get someone to correct your spelling and grammar.

Is Pubmembers actually a registered Trademark? If not, you have no right to use the ® symbol. Use the â,,¢ symbol instead.

Do the Japanese symbols mean something? If so, make sure your wording is correct to avoid localisation insults.

"What's for tea tonight dad?"
"Brisket soup river powder again I'm afraid."
"Awww! But we wanted fuck to fry the cow river!"

Making fun of spelling when it's obvious what the person means isn't even funny, it's just tacky.  Stay on topic, please.
